Lover of Truth Spamming Up Crisis Sub-Forum

Why can't he just create one thread, perhaps called "Lover of Truth's posts" or something, and then just post all his articles there?  If anyone wants to read them, they're readily available.  Those who prefer to not be bothered with a new thread for each post aren't inconvenienced.

And likewise--but more harshly--automagically prune quoting of quoted text, not only by length, but also by nesting, much of which seems--nearly always--to result from obnoxious laziness by the person replying.

Yes, that's another pet peeve of mine, the person who quotes 1,500 lines, with a dozen layers of nesting, and then makes a one-sentence post in response.  I always manually trim these quoted texts way down to the salient point when responding.

Please recall that the EENS sub forum was created because he was spamming the Crisis forum just as he is now. The sub forum was supposed to stop the crippling of the crisis forum by copious and repetitive postings, and allow the forum to resume its discussions.
Now there are two forums which do not function.

I would suggest giving him his own forum, but he would fill that one as well as continuing to spam the two previous forums. There seems to be no way to curb his continually expanding spam.

Thank you for reminding me.  You're absolutely correct.

Yes, Lover of Truth --

Stop it.

This isn't your personal blog. If you want to post that much more than the average person, then start a blog for crying out loud.

This is a discussion forum, used by many others. No one should stand out that much by creating that many cut-and-paste posts in a row like that. You are trying to dominate the whole sub-forum with your own favorite articles or point of view.

There has to be a limit on cut-pasting articles -- whether it's an official rule, or just a de-facto limit.

Normally I don't place limits on posting -- a person can only compose so many posts in a waking day. But once you resort to cut-pasting, there's really no limit. You could post all the works of your "allies" in a given debate, and drown out your opposition.

It isn't about the content, either. Like Ladislaus said, if you created 20 new threads right now containing chapters 1-20 of Genesis, it would still be annoying and make the forum less usable. What about all the interesting discussions that USED TO BE the top 20 topics in that sub-forum? Now they've scrolled off to page 2.

If you want to share your "fave articles" with the world, please keep them to a SINGLE THREAD. And post within reason.

And yes, consider this a warning. I can't let CathInfo become "Lover of Truth"'s personal blog, while ticking off 5 or 10 legitimate CathInfo members in the process.
