Author Topic: Lover of Truth Spamming Up Crisis Sub-Forum (Read 3646 times)

After having been admonished once before by Matthew, and after a lengthy hiatus, Lover of Truth (so-called), has returned to completely spam up the Crisis and EENS sub-forums to the point that they're no longer readable or usable.

As per his prior behavior, he spams a large article from NovusOrdoWatch or DailyCatholic to start a thread. If anyone responds to one or another point being made by the thread, LoT responds by pasting in yet another lengthy spam post ... instead of directly addressing the point, giving the impression that he needs to have the last post or last say in every single thread, whether it's relevant or not, whether it rebuts someone else's points or not. His behavior is absolutely puerile.

These full-article posts not only render every thread that he touches unreadable (who wants to read a dozen full-length articles to get through a thread?), but he's been gradually pushing all the worthwhile threads down the page, so that only his spam-threads remain. And if someone responds to another thread and therefore bumps it back towards the top, he's sure to jump in and pollute that one too by spamming a response article into it.

He's been admonished for this behavior before, went into a long hiatus, but has now returned with a vengeance.

If this were my forum, I would ban him for this obnoxious behavior ... and this has nothing to do with the fact that I disagree with him on several of his positions.

Why not just put him on ignore, sorry but I never understood how one person could annoy another so much when all you have to do is skip over their notes.

It's not just a question of ignoring him. He's pushing entire threads down the page and out of sight, causing people to abandon and bail out of threads who might have an actual contribution to make, causing only one or two real posts to show up on any given page, completely derailing/killing threads. It's not just a question of my personally being annoyed with him. I have long been annoyed with that guy. But it's a question of not even wanting to look in these sections anymore, nor wanting to post there. He's rendering the forum unusable ... even if I personally put him on ignore.

Yeah, let me start spamming the Dimonds' articles chapter by chapter into various new threads, pushing everything else off the page, and I'd like to see how much you would "like to read" that.

Yeah, let me start spamming the Dimonds' articles chapter by chapter into various new threads, pushing everything else off the page, and I'd like to see how much you would "like to read" that.

That's not the point. I don't care if it's the Bible. If he posted a chapter of the Bible every other post, that too would be obnoxious, despite the fact that I obviously have nothing against the Bible. In fact, there was one clown here who used to post a bunch of Bible verses (most of which had nothing to do with the thread at hand) in lieu of actual posts with content. That too was extremely annoying.

I generally enjoy Lover of Truth's posts but, I am kidding, is there any way he could edit them? Every post does not have to be in excess of 10,000 words. He should edit his articles from other locations to just a few paragraphs covering key points.

He has an inordinate obsession against anything that has to do with the absolute necessity of the sacraments for salvation (de fide) and an inordinate obsession with anything that has to do with the dogma EENS (Extra ecclesiam nulla salus) or Outside the Church there is no salvation.

Being born and raised in the anti-church, LoE must have been a devout NOer in his day, perhaps even studied NO theology in his day because that's what his posts scream.

He's definitely one of the many ex-NOers who have been unable or unwilling to successfully purge the NO poison from within himself, hence his obsessive spamming a trad forum with NO posts about non-members who can be saved and his overall NO theme of the road to heaven being paved with good intentions and etc. ad nausem.

To defend stubborn, I think it is perfectly reasonable to call sedevacantists schismatic if you believe the Novus Ordo sect is the true Church of Christ. They refuse communion with the Pope and all the bishops (except for the imaginary one or two who they say must be still Catholic that nobody knows about). If that isn't schismatic, nobody is.

But to be charitable, that means that he's monitoring NovusOrdoWatch, so I  don't need to spend time doing the same.

Well!  "If this were my forum", and I had complete control over its software, as Matthew does with his highly useful-&-efficient "abandonware" MercuryBoard, I would modify that software to impose a limit to the length of all postings--and even more so for replies, i.e.: Keep the initial m bytes as submitted, keep the final n bytes as submitted, and discard everything in between. And likewise--but more harshly--automagically prune quoting of quoted text, not only by length, but also by nesting, much of which seems--nearly always--to result from obnoxious laziness by the person replying. It wouldn't be a trivial modification, because the revised code must attend to BBCode mark-up, but it would certainly be tractable.

It's not anything like that. I may have started 14 threads in 6 years on sedevacantism, seems like LoE starts 14 modernist infected threads (always a mile long) once every other week or so - that is spamming fyi. Then he ignores all replies by posting more mile long posts. You may call that normal behavior, I call it an inordinate obsession, a symptom derived from where the man was "born and raised", in the anti-church.

As for sedevacantism, because it is only an opinion, one which the Church has never taught, and because it requires a minimum of absolute proof, which is impossible to ever prove in this life, the risk of schism is evident to everyone who is not sedevacantist.
