I have a list of Popes from Fr Laux's Chuch History and some Popes are referred to with the designation B. before their name such as B. Benedict XI--- I am assuming this means blessed in some way but not a full saint??

Yes, it means 'Blessed'. It's usually used for people who have been beatified, but not canonized, although I believe the title has sometimes been given to those who have not been beatified (I may be mistaken).

I do not think Nogaret killed the Pope.
