Maybe check out whether the 'volunteer' has any political associations, I've seen this type of thing happen before covid at the likes of parties when someone starts slagging off at the government.

I’d raise the issue with the priest. If it is done with his approval or if he fails to put a stop to it, I’d find another chapel or pray at home.

You could ask the creepy person to write down a pseudonym for your family, but then again how would you know if they actually did it?

I definitely share your concern about this and would seriously consider finding a different chapel if I were in your position.

If someone at that chapel gets the Scary Flu you will be forced to quarantine, obviously.

I have heard of the Novus Ordo even keeping track of who goes to confession for a similar reason. Just the thought ...
