So persecution or fear of the govt means you don't have to attend mass?  I don't get your point.

My point is that you go too far in stating that YOU HAVE TO RISK DEATH to fulfill your Sunday obligation.

Why not?  Show me some moral theology to back up your claim.
.
You also have to distinguish between the type of death.  If a hurricane is tearing down the chapel, and if you'd die if you enter the building, obviously that's not required.  But if the risk is persecution/martyrdom, how does that give you an exception to the 3rd commandment?  Plenty of catholics died going to mass.  History is full of examples.
.
In this case, we're not even talking about death.  We're talking about being put on a "list".  That's hardly a reason to avoid mass.  And, in case you're overly naive and you don't know the govt has been spying on us for the last 40 years, here's a NEWSFLASH:  If you've even taken your phone to church, they know which one you go to.  Your cell phone is the biggest "list" out there.  The govt doesn't need a hand-written list and no matter if you're on it or not, it won't stop them from finding out which chapel you attend.  To think otherwise is childishly naive.

I'm not gonna waste my time looking for sources when you are were the one who made the ridiculous claim. I do remember from reading things like Catechisms that they used to teach that a major inconvenience would excuse you from your obligation. Things like being ill. And also that if you had to travel for more than one hour one way to get to Mass you were excused or if there was a storm that would make travel difficult. Never did I hear until you come along and get all spergy on us that you had to risk death. I mean if Church were illegal, go when you can, as people did in times of persecution, but not under pain of mortal sin.

Exactly the point I was going to raise.  If things like advanced age, illness, attending those in need, long travel distance, dangerous travel are allowable reasons to not attend Mass, please don’t insist Mass MUST be attended to the point of martyrdom.  Depending upon one’s state in life, a Catholic MAY choose to risk his or her life to hear Mass, but it is not a requirement.  There are a few family anecdotes from my great, great grandparents, written down as my grandmother remembered hearing them, of attending Mass at an actual “Mass rock” behind a barn.  Father would attend with the older boys and two girls.  Or mother might attend but father did not.  At least one parent would remain at home along with one older boy, one older girl, and the toddlers and babies who might cry and give away the location.  Precautions were taken so that the children would not become orphans and there might be someone old enough to work that the family wouldn’t be penniless.  There is also an account of a grandfather baptizing his new granddaughter because nobody knew if or when a priest could come.
What Catholics are not dispensed from is keeping the Lord’s Day holy.  If you truly believe the vaccine police are going to show up at your home and forcibly take your children away to be injected with fetal DNA and raised as pagans, I’d say you have an obligation NOT to attend Mass!
BTW, am I the only person on here who doesn’t own a smartphone, therefore, doesn’t bring one to Mass?  I have a tablet and Cathinfo is the only place I ever post anything.  In order to use it, I have to be in a place with a WiFi connection.  I’m allowed to use a neighbor’s signal at home, or I’ll park outside a place with free WiFi like McDonalds or Starbucks.  Most Staples stores have a signal you can pick up outside.  You just have to drive around the parking lot to find it!  (I’ve taken a few classes that way—-showed up at 10:00 PM and worked until 2:30 AM. Then I’d drive close to work, park in a secluded place and sleep from 3:00-8:00.) Perhaps someone could trace it, but I’m not sure how since I go by a pseudonym and don’t use Facebook or any social media.

The whole point of this thread is the discussion of being put on a "govt list" and/or being potentially persecuted.  None of the things you've listed above have ANY connection to my comment.  You have taken my "risk of death" comment out of context.  I have repeatedly said that, in the context of persecution, yes, one would have the obligation to attend mass, even if death were a possibility.  Catholic history is full of examples of this.

Assuming a catholic was healthy and lived in close proximity to a mass, the govt passing a law which prohibited mass would NOT EXEMPT one from their sunday obligation.  Govt laws do NOT overrule the 3rd commandment.  If you have to pay a fine to attend mass, you do it.  If you have to go to jail to attend mass, you do it.  If you have to suffer martydom to attend mass, you do it.  What kind of Catholic goes to mass "when he can"?  That's not catholic thinking.
