Most primary source seems to be Andrea Cionci (a well-known Italian Bennyvacantist, author of The Ratzinger Code):

who then may have gotten it elsewhere (as per this prior video, linked to above):

Either way, I would have preferred that lightning directly struck the false pope rather than a statue of our first true pope.   Now that would have been a sign! :laugh1:

I'm not sure.  Bergoglio has done a much greater service to Traditional Catholicism than Ratzinger ever did, since he's causing people to wake up about the Vatican II problem, whereas Ratzinger was putting them to sleep.

Cionci lists some other Bergoglian phenomena (some of which I hadn't heard of before):

Quote
We can remember the lightning that struck the Dome the same night as Pope Benedict's "resignation"; the inexplicable blocking of the bells of Castel Gandolfo following the invalid election of Francis; the killing of the doves released by Bergoglio by crows and seagulls; the fire of the Bethlehem chapel a few hours after Francis' visit; the fire in the Consistory Hall of Castel Gandolfo a few months ago, in the same days in which we published this appreciated report and many other events that Catholics of just a century ago would have interpreted as unequivocal "press releases" from the Eternal Father.

But I think that this one holds the key ... :laugh1:

FWIW, there was a hurricane-level storm on 17th December that killed over a dozen people. In itself given the date, that's something.

In the video below cued up @ 5:30, a caller claims to have spoken to the secretary at the sanctuary church, who confirmed that the damage to the statue of Saint Peter did happen. Hearsay? Ironclad verification? I don't know. Several Spanish-language anti-Bergoglio blogs have picked up the story but haven't added any new information.

As for the official accounts, lack of evidence does not equal evidence of lack. I'd be more surprised if they hadn't squashed this occurrence since it doesn't play well with the approved narrative. It's a major pilgrimage site since the apparitions were acknowledged in 2016.
