New Ferula of Leo XIV Removes Nails and Passion of Christ

On Palm Sunday, Leo XIV used again a ferula that features a risen Christ leaving the cross.

He has used it since 6 January 2026. On 9 January, the Office for the Liturgical Celebrations told VaticanNews.va that the cross "unites the mission of proclaiming the mystery of Christ on the cross with the glorious manifestation of the resurrection".

The ferula "presents Christ no longer bound by the nails of the Passion, but with his glorified body", according to the papal office.

Those modernists! Pope St. Pius X taught that these people give a newer interpretation of the dogmas. So now we have the 665 th example from Rome itself. But this one is clearly dumb:  Palm Sunday/ Passion Week leads directly to the Crucifixion. And there they are, not even an ounce of logic. Pretty much the same logic as putting the cart in front of the donkey.

Don't want to get trapped by that  N.O. church, scandals are now created; so the silver lining is that serious Catholics will join the " Resistance "...

St. Pius X, pray for us.

Leo Watch | Ep. 1 "The Church does not want to wave the flag of possessing the truth."

Roman Catholic Media

From the transcript of the video:
Bishop Sanborn:

12:09
Actions speak louder than words and a picture is worth a thousand words at his (Leo XVI) very first Sunday mass he uses the ferala of Paul VI
For those who don't know your excellency that cross that would be so associated- the drooping cross with JP2- now some might say well art is just a matter of taste- why is this such a bad thing why do you think it's a...

No it's not matter of taste- it art especially religious art telegraphs a very strong message about something sacred and that was actually Paul VI that got that thing out or he had it made Paul VI had notoriously bad taste everything he liked was
extremely ugly and so he carried around this ugly cross and it is Christ in His defeat which was never portrayed in any Catholic art since the first century

Christ was victorious on the cross that's where He defeated sin and and the effects of sin He and the resurrection is only a manifestation of His victory but the victory was on the cross and that's why the Catholic you know the cross is always decorated and you know it's  something that is everywhere and yes it shows His sufferings but His sufferings were His victory He was not defeated on the cross speaking more to that posture yes that posture and He said "No one takes my life from me." See so He could have stayed there forever if He wanted to because He was the author of life I give up my life when I want to and that's when that's why He cried out with a loud voice at the end to show that He was giving up His life of His own accord and that's why the centurion said this man is truly the Son of God because He cried out with a loud voice it's in the gospel see nobody does that everyone gasps at the end and they you know just pass away especially with loss of blood and you know you become delirious the physical impossibility of you could not cry out with a loud voice so that's His victory

And so to carry around a cross like that- what's the message they're trying to send your excellency?
I really don't know I mean it's not a good message though I mean it's to deny the victory of the cross implicitly I would say and it is to denigrate the cross in other words it's it's a sort of an identification with man's misery that's what I think it is but it's just something that is repulsive but for him to carry that around says I identify all with everything back to Paul VI straight continuity that's the uniform if he wanted to make a break he would use the traditional triple cross...

The pope never carried anything until Paul VI...
So does the pope not carry anything in procession?
No he doesn't carry a crozier he doesn't carry anything...you know that he's the pope he does special things you see- and no- that was invented by Paul VI
