Update: State Advocate for the Minnesota Knights of Columbus made the following disingenuous statement: "We would allow gαy and lesbian use of the KC Hall as long as they were not publically opposing church teaching. "

Perhaps the folks at CPCSM would be interested in renting a hall in the future, or perhaps the Ku Klux Klan?

You can call Mr. Terwedo at (952) 492-2200.

Edit:  Isn't it great when two fraternal organizations whose mutual association would be frowned upon by the Catholic Church, look past all that to break bread in an official capacity?

FYI, from then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger via here:

It has been asked whether there has been any change in the Church’s decision in regard to Masonic associations since the new Code of Canon Law does not mention them expressly, unlike the previous code.

This sacred congregation is in a position to reply that this circuмstance is due to an editorial criterion which was followed also in the case of other associations likewise unmentioned inasmuch as they are contained in wider categories.

Therefore, the Church’s negative judgment in regard to Masonic associations remains unchanged since their principles have always been considered irreconcilable with the doctrine of the Church and, therefore, membership in them remains forbidden. The faithful, who enroll in Masonic associations are in a state of grave sin and may not receive Holy Communion.

It is not within the competence of local ecclesiastical authorities to give a judgment on the nature of Masonic associations which would imply a derogation from what has been decided above, and this in line with the declaration of this sacred congregation issued Feb. 17,1981. 4 .

In an audience granted to the undersigned cardinal prefect, the Supreme Pontiff John Paul II approved and ordered the publication of this declaration which had been decided in an ordinary meeting of this sacred congregation.

Father Jerome Hamer, O.P., Titular Archbishop of Lorium, Secretary."Declaration of the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith"; 26 November 1983.5 .

  • The KofC isn't much different from the Freemasons these days anyway. No faith required, just a social club. Their problems go back before VII as well; after all JFK was a member and they've seemed to have certain Americanist tendencies for a while.
    Pray for me, always.

I have called and complained about why there are no pro life buses in salem county nj.  and where is the money going.  Why wasn't there buses for the notre dame incident when the bishops new many months ahead of time about the obama scandal?

When they sent buses out to DC for ban healthcare bill, novus ordo buses were very few and some cost about $40 dollars a person when the tea party sponsored same bus trip for same cause for $10 dollars a person.

It is heartbreaking that they are destroying our Catholic faith...

Nearby south jersey there is catholic parish sharing their church with non catholic religion.  Also, nearby Catholic church is sponsoring ecuмenical prayer group for men open to all.

May God bless you and keep you

The comments at the end of the linked Eponymous Flower page has several
sympathizers complaining about Catholics' criticisms -- of the Freemasons and of
any association with the Masons. They say these Masons were just trying to do some
charitable work, helping a poor guy pay his medical bills.

It looks like only the Catholics, who are upset at the mingling with Freemasons, can
know what they're upset about, because from the outside it just looks like a bunch
    of hypocrisy.

What can you do? It seems Freemasons have done a masterful job of putting on
shows of humanitarianism and community spirit projects. They parade in their
silly-looking outfits, with smiles and proud gestures of friendliness. They conduct
award ceremonies and congratulate each other with respect and honor. It makes
people think they are primarily a good-will organization. And who could be opposed
    to that?

It's as though any Catholic who expresses their misgivings about Freemasons and
Fɾҽҽmαsσɳɾყ is preaching to the choir, because those outside the choir just don't
seem to get it. There is a barrier of misunderstanding. How do you get through that?

  • The Holy Face prayers are very efficacious in dealing with the Freemasons and communists.  Together with the Holy Rosary, the Holy Face Prayers are very powerful weapons at our disposal:

Arise O Lord and let Thy enemies be scattered.  Let them that hate Thee flee from before Thy Face.

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most Holy Cross of Our Lord, Thy Son, Jesus Christ, together with all the instruments of His Holy Passion that Thou mayest put division in the camp of Thy enemies.  For as Thy Dearly Beloved Son hath said:  A kingdom divided against itself shall fall.

O Divine Jesus, through Thy Face and Name, save us.  Our hope is in the virtue of Thy Holy Name.

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Adorable Face of Thy Beloved Son for the honor and glory of Thy Name, for the converion of sinners and for the salvation of the dying.

These are just a few of them (and the ones I have committed to memory).  These prayers are so easy to say at any moment one is confronted with the evil of the enemy.

  • Yesterday I paid a visit to the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Santa Fe, and in their bulletin is an ad for a retreat they are having. It says that "members of other denominations are welcome, especially members of two denominations Ive never heard of, idk dont have the bulletin with me. But yeah, ecuмenism.
