Q: At what point are preparations for a papal visit to Iraq?
Quote from: Chaldean Catholic Patriarch, who was present when JPII kissed the Qu'ran
A: It is known that Pope John Paul II has often voiced a desire to make a pilgrimage in the footsteps of Abraham, the common father of Jєωs, Christians, and Muslims. For the Pope, Abraham is a figure who helps the unity of believers to overcome political divisions. On May 14th I [the Chaldean Catholic Patriarch of Babylon] was received by the Pope, together with a delegation composed of the Shi'ite imam of Khadum mosque and the Sunni president of the council of administration of the Iraqi Islamic Bank. There was also a representative of the Iraqi ministry of religion. I renewed our invitation to the Pope, because his visit would be for us a grace from heaven. It would confirm the faith of Christians and prove the Pope's love for the whole of humanity in a country which is mainly Muslim.

At the end of the audience the Pope bowed to the Muslim holy book, the Qu'ran, presented to him by the delegation, and he kissed it as a sign of respect. The photo of that gesture has been shown repeatedly on Iraqi television and it demonstrates that the Pope is not only aware of the suffering of the Iraqi people, he has also great respect for Islam.

A papal visit would be welcomed by both the people and by the authorities. After the audience I immediately sent a recommendation to the Iraqi government to make the official step of inviting the Pope to Iraq.

He was in an audience together with "the Shi'ite imam of Khadum mosque and the Sunni president of the council of administration of the Iraqi Islamic Bank", and some claim he kissed an Arabic Bible? The Iraqi people watching this on TV even knew it was a Qu'ran, and the Chaldean Catholic Patriarch himself says so.

JPII thus knew full well he was kissing a Qu'ran.

The fundamentalist Baptist at work was outraged by this action. She pointed out, quite correctly, that Christians died rather than bow to idols.  And he is being canonized?  God have mercy on us!
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

With the upcoming "canonization", we need "to tear away the mask from Fɾҽҽmαsσɳɾყ [and its minions, like JPII], and to let it be seen as it really is;" as Leo XIII wrote in Humanum Genus.

  • My understanding is that Freemasons place their hand on the quuarn when they swear oaths.

That picture right there should exclude JPII from being canonized it is an insult to the faithful and a moment of glee to the enemies of the Church.

In the ceremonies for the advancement of the higher degrees, yes. The Shriners, the highest degrees, wear red hats, which represent the hats Muslims dunked in Christian blood. (cf. John Salza's Fɾҽҽmαsσɳɾყ docuмentation).
