More here on that new guy's background: https://www.cathinfo.com/crisis-in-the-church/nom-unfunnies-continued/msg891172/#msg891172

I see how Jorge booted this man's predecessor in that Argentinian see so fast that the Bishop (a conservative) found himself homeless, told to get out of the diocese and not allowed to live there even as an Emeritus.  So much for Jorge's boundless compassion and mercy.

Is it my eyes or does St. Ignatius Loyola not look too pleased in that portrait behind Tucho's shoulder.

Irony of ecclesiastical history: The original 16th century predecessor for this seat was Cardinal Antonio Ghislieri, later Pope Pius V.

Would a caption contest be blasphemous?

I couldn't help but notice how excited Bergoglio looks to be with his new Unholy Office boss.

I noticed that too.  Looks like a very blank expression on his face, like there's "nobody home" upstairs.
