Just selecting one para out of your post, Neo, at least for now:
And I know that there is a rebuttal for that, like for example Jesuits have a lot of Martrys. Well so do protestants or Buddhists or Muslims for that matter. Jesuits have a lot of intellectuals. Well so do communists. Ah but Jesuits have a lot Universities. Well as far as I know so do pagans.
A martyr is one who gives his life for the love of Jesus and the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. So yes there are many wonderful Jesuit martyrs and saints - read up about St Edmond Campion for example. But there are no Buddhist or Muslim martyrs, because Buddhist are basically pagans and Muslims deny the divinity of Jesus Christ. Protestants died outside the Church and for them and the others "dying for a cause" is not martyrdom and does them no earthly or heavenly good. As for universities - basically they were established by the Catholic Church through the religious orders, including the Society of Jesus, and have over the years been taken over by pagans and atheists.
Sorry for the late post. Spent 4 days in the mountains, no internet, just good old nature.
So anyway I see you're putting me in a position were I have to re-word my idea. See I don't see that you're not rebutting my idea, just my choice of words. And that's very awkward to say the least.
So anyway, Martyrdom, the Church existed for more than 1500 years before this company even thought of supplying their first martyr. And, again, just cause they're not coined "martyrs" in other religions doesn't mean that every other religious institution out there isn't brainwashing people to die for their beliefs. Yes they die for their beliefs and in a number FAR greater than this company could ever even dream or imagine. So the point is as the saying goes "do not even so the pagans?" (Math.5:47).
Same with universities, excuse my grammar, but can't the idea of a scholarly institution for higher learning be traced back to pagan Egypt in the times of Moses. And latter on to Nebuchadnezzar in time of Daniel or maybe Aristotle pagan Greece. Again "do not even so the pagans?".
As for your interpretation of Exodus 20:7, I have to disagree.
The commandment is not "Thou Shalt not use the name of the Lord thy God" but "Thou Shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain".
The commandment is in fact "Thou Shalt not
use the name of the Lord thy God in vain" as well as "Thou Shalt not
take the name of the Lord thy God in vain". They
are one and the same and you don't have to be a rocket scientist. So not only does it not sound right, but it also contradicts
Tradition. Because the REALITY is that if they would have tried to pull that of in the Old Testament it would have been game over. But not only that, because, I'm sorry, but not only do they take the name of Jesus Christ in vain but they also LIE when they do it. They
are not a military order and comparing them to the Order of Christ is insulting. Playing to be a soldier and actually going to war are two very different things. Suffering a martyrs death and experiencing the horrors of war are very different.
But you know what, that's off the point. What I need, if in fact I am incorrect, is to know why the Church got corrupted to the point that Vatican II took place.
See in my idea "A little
leaven leaveneth the whole lump" (Gal 5:9). So if that's not the case where is "a little leaven" coming from?
