I went to that link and [saw] an article entitled:  It's Official:  Pope John Paul I on his way to canonization and my first thought was "for what?  He was only Pope for 28 days or thereabouts."
Maybe you knew of a now deceased priest named Fr. Luigi Villa? After reading some things he wrote, I'm convinced that Pope John Paul I was murdered for attempting ti "clean house" of the masons, as I recall he had been given a list of who they were around him. He was even heard fighting with the head of Vatican bank the night before he died.
I consider P.J.P. I a martyr and apparently other old folks do too. Go ahead and canonize him.

where does someone like me fit in... ?

I go to NO Mass but only because I have no choice and it IS (contrary to what here say) better than going to no Mass at all, sometimes it is very much so

But I don't believe that JP II is a saint. Has he been "canonized"? I've heard 2 different things

I don't belive John XXIII is either.. not hardly... not after instigating Vat II..

And whoever had the bright idea to abolish the Latin Mass? He is in league with the devil himself..

But still, there are some NO parishes that are good

Question, if a person is canonized a saint, when in reality they may be in hell, what does praying to such a "saint" risk? Your own salvation?

No. It is not better than not going to mass at all. I have no choice, either, and when I did go to the NO, it was bad to worse to absolutely revolting. It's attending mass with zombies with their hippie priests and it shrivels my heart and mind to think, this is what has become of Christ's church.
