I am not saying I believe any of this. I am just wondering if it is possible.

Could it be possible, with Vatican 2 being a counterfeit council trying to appear to be Catholic and speak for the Catholic Church, Vatican 2 has no power whatsoever to declare anything to be infallible and we have a true pope in the underground waiting to come to the forefront to restore the Catholic Church to its former glory?

What do you think will happen to the Catholic Church?

How could we possibly know he is the true pope if he has been underground for decades??

Lets just say a man pops out of the woodwork suddenly with some regal papal vestments and a used tiara (sold to him by Paul VI) surrounded by a handful of Bishops and calls a press conference.  Let us go so far to say that he and the bishops completely profess the true faith, mass, abjure all the modern errors.  Thats great, high fives all around.  But by what possible criteria could we possibly determine with any certainty that he is as he claims to be the Vicar of Christ??  He has pictures? Film footage of the coronation? the skeleton of the real Paul VI liberated from the basement of the Vatican?

Well this is what the people who believe in the Siri thesis believe. They believe that Siri was elected the true pope in 1958, was blackmailed into not becoming the pope and then the cardinals elected John XXIII, but because Siri was forced to not be pope and did not accept this willingly, he remained true pope. The followers of this theory believe that Siri made cardinals and bishops to create a true hierarchy that is remaining underground to hide from the enemies of the Church and will one day come out of hiding and restore the Church to her glory. I believe roscoe and maybe others on this forum believes this. One of my friends from church believes in the Siri thesis.

Hm?  Seems to me there is a reading in the Bible about us being a light and why would one put a bushel basket over it?  It would seem to me, that hiding is not in God's plans.

Not all the Siri Thesis advocates believe in the secret hierarchy thing.  In fact, it really comes across as a scam and only serves to discredit the theory.

Is it possible that this happened?  Sure, why not?  But there's ZERO evidence for any of it.
