First, I don't believe it is possible to "manipulate" someone into the priesthood. How can you attribute the suggestion to consider a religious vocation as being "manipulation"? Perhaps those who are making these suggestions to you are not trying to manipulate you but rather see in you something that you, yourself, do not see.
It is your duty to follow your vocation, whether that vocation be to the priesthood, the religious life, or the married state. So, to answer your question, no, your choice of vocation is not necessarily a choice that should be made because you want to choose that particular vocation.
Many people choose particular vocations because they think that is what is expected of them rather than what they want to do. Others have no intention of choosing one particular vocation but find themselves in circuмstances that cause them to pursue a vocation they never intended. Still others think they have one vocation but find that it is not what they are meant to do.
You will find happiness, true happiness, by fulfilling the vocation that is yours--that is, by successfully reaching the end purpose for which you were created which is salvation in heaven. Which state will best serve that end, that is, the married state, the religious state, or the clergy state, is your vocation whether you "want to" or not. That is what discernment is all about. It takes time to figure that out.
I believe you have a duty to seriously consider whether the priesthood is the vocation that God intends for you according to what the people you think are trying to manipulate you are saying. If what they are saying seems to be true, you should pursue that vocation and allow the seminary to help you discern that vocation. If what they are saying seems not to be correct, you are not under an obligation to pursue that vocation at all.
In any event, no one can really manipulate you into the priesthood behind your back. YOU have to freely accept ordination and it is done face-to-face. Don't accuse anyone of ill-will in seeking your salvation.
