  • I too have thought the same about SSPX although I attrend a Sedevacantist Chapel.  That SSPX may be the true course of action. That we may not be correct. So how then am I to condemn what Archbishop Lefebvre did?  On the contrary.   We may have differences - but it takes courage to be a traditional Catholic.  I applaude all the members of SSPX for being courageous.

  • If there were no crisis in the Church and we had a normal non-heretical Pope and hierarchy, both the SSPX and the sedevacantists would be considered schismatic for operating independent of the hierarchy.

Which gets back to the fact that it's the VII Church that is in schism.

    Well then it's false!

At most, they are material schismatics. But they would never want to be separated from the Church Christ founded.

Eastern Orthodox and Protestants do not want it either. Ask any Orthodox or Protestant. They also have good intention. They don't think themselves as being separated from the Church Christ founded.

In Our Catholic Church, the visible foundation of the Supreme Pontiff is the glue that has hold us together for more than 2000 years. When you cross the line and cast off the visible monarchy of the Church, you open a pandora box and you eat your own tail. I can sympathize with the sedevacantist position but let us not support the error.
If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.
