Bishop Patrick Zurek of Amarillo, Texas, has announce an investigation into the incident in which Father Frank Pavone posted a video in which he displayed the body of an unborn child on an altar while making a plea for support of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The bishop said that the display of an aborted fetus on an altar was “against the dignity of human life and is a desecration of the altar.”

“The Diocese of Amarillo deeply regrets the offense and outrage caused by the video,” the bishop’s statement said. Bishop Zurek said that the video presentation was “not consistent with the beliefs of the Catholic Church.”

Although he works in New York as head of Priests for Life, Father Pavone is officially a priest of the Amarillo diocese. The pro-life activist priest has clashed in the past with diocesan leaders in both Amarillo and New York.

Father Frank Pavone, the controversial leader of Priests for Life, has sparked outrage by posting a Facebook video in which he placed the body of an unborn child on an altar while making a last-minute plea for voters to support Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

“A human being has been sacrificed and the altar of God has been desecrated, all for politics,” charged Ken Mechmann, the director of public policy for the New York archdiocese. He described the video as “absolutely appalling,” and said that pro-lifers should repudiate it.

In a follow-up video explaining the video, Father Pavone apologized to those whose “sensibilities were offended,” but argued that the shocking image was needed because of the urgency of defeating Hillary Clinton’s bid for the US presidency. Father Pavone explained that his organization occasionally receives the bodies of aborted children, and gives them a proper burial; in this case, he said, he had offered a funeral Mass for the child after filming the video.

Father Pavone dismissed criticism that the exploitation of an unborn child’s body was inappropriate. “I refuse to be lectured by anybody—in the Church or outside the Church—about how to respect the unborn child,” he said. He did not comment on the complaint that he had desecrated an altar.

I think this attitude of "I refuse to be lectured to" and "nobody can criticize me" is poison in a priest. If he is not careful this could be his downfall.

The only criticism I have here is of Mr. Zurek. The one thing that cannot be desecrated is a Novus Ordo Cranmer's Table.

Anyone who represents any dioceses of New Order are Marxist and that includes Pavone. We are passed knowing that charities and grants of the New Order give to abortion/ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity and Obama, probably Clinton this time around.
New Order is NOT Pro-Life. They bring NO Life at the table or to people.

Nadir: All dioceses of New Order take on Saul Alinsky in Catholic Charities, Campaign for Human Development for just a few starters. They are with United Way support abortion. Money$$$. The clergy use pro-life as a smoke screen. They may speak pro-life but the money goes to the Saul Alinskey groups. Grants from the feds are taken by all dioceses. Stephanie Block wrote many books on this subject.

Remember the New Order is Marxist and has been for a very long time. Europe since the 40's.

Despite the (supposed) good intent of Fr. Pavone, this is undoubtedly a sacrilege and yet another sign that if you don't have your priorities straight, the Crisis is going to eat you up and spit you back out. Abortion is one of the biggest problems out there today but he's let that single issue push everything else to the side, including the reverence, honor, and dignity that ought to be reserved exclusively for the Sacred Host in the Mass. If it's wrong to place newly baptized babies on the altar during Mass, then there's no way this makes any sense. Maybe someone will be electing themselves Pope soon!

Once again, another priest showing to the world how much he deserves to be defrocked. Absolutely deranged.

Yes. They are associated with United way crooks who fund planned parenthood and anti cop groups.

Pope Francis tells the world that the church obsesses about abortion and ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity.
On USA Election Day, he is hanging out with his famous pro abortion friend.
(Obviously, he doesn't read the bible) or Catholic teachings. Now he is promoting heretics to high positions. He is excommunicated.

He is not a real priest and the "altar wasn't a truly consecrated one." He just comes off as deranged. I am not sure why people are outraged.
