  • Do not believe the myth spread by the Prots Classicomm, Marrs and E Mullins that Fr Torquemada was a Judaic-- it is not true.

The courts of the Spanish INQ were probably the fairest ever known to mankind. Were there a couple of abuses?--=- yes.

  • If INQ was still functioning, there would be no pedophiles, Communists or homos infiltrating the clergy. It seems mr Marrs wants to have it both ways.

  • There's definitely been a LOT of *ahem* "bologna" spread about the whole Inquisition affair. I suggest reading something other than worldly encyclopedias on the matter. Like with many other important topics, you really need to dig to make sure you're getting the truth of the matter. In this case, you're not getting it.

Historians aren't saints. They're human. And most human beings, especially those without much in the way of moral scruples, are prone to fudging the data pretty much whenever it suits them. Why should this most hated of all subjects (religion) be, for just such people, an exception?
I renounce any and all of my former views against what the Church through Pope Leo XIII said, "This, then, is the teaching of the Catholic Church ...no one of the several forms of government is in itself condemned, inasmuch as none of them contains anythi

  • The fundamentalist protestant ANTI-Catholic recluse, Jack Chick, certainly thinks your on the right trail with the Inquisition line.  His Chick publications provide little anti-Catholic cartoon pamphlets which provide talking points for the simple uneducated fundamentalist preachers in my region.  I read them online to be prepared for "battle." The Inquisition is a drum Chick frequently beats against the true Church!  Just google "Jack Chick Publications." Click on "tracts" and scroll through and pick out all of the anti-Catholic material you desire.  You can also find plenty of support for your apparent position about the Blessed Virgin Mary there, as well!  As far as scholarly quality, it probably rates below the heretic Martin Luther I see you quoted recently; not sure how it ranks to the travel guide website you quoted, though!

    CAUTION:

I expect this forum has folks of varying degrees of naivity and desperation!  Jack Chick material is satan at work, and should only be viewed by the strongest and most grounded in truth.

I've said several times now that Classiccom is preaching anti-Catholic hatred I regularly encounter in my region.  It's right out of Chick's playbook (but has been around long before Chick).  The reason I'm so familiar with Classiccom's line is because I hear it from people around here, I see the Chick paraphernalia left on Wal-Mart shelves, in public restrooms, in Courthouse benches, etc.  I so clearly recognize Classiccom's rhetoric, that I thought it may be helpful for others on here to see that it is primarily anti-Catholics who share his sentiments!

I'm utterly unshaken by such rhetoric as my Irish Catholic paternal family has lived in this region for for approximately 130 years and my German Catholic maternal family considerably longer than that (not that I take temptation lightly; I am shaken through prayer and a firm grip on the truths of Christ's true Church; and by the Grace of God).
