  • I think the consensus is that spouses should agree on who the Pope is (or isn't).

  • Everyone will probably start arguing about online dating again  :laugh1:

But yes, it would be pretty impossible to build a happy Catholic home if the parents can't agree on who the Pope is.

I'm sure both sides would agree that Indult/SSPX etc and Sedevacantists are practically diametrically opposed.

If one party follows a different person who they believe is the Pope from the other, they're about as divided as people who call themselves Catholics can be, no matter how far they agree on other matters of Catholicism.

And I think even the Novus Ordo wouldn't oppose to that!

I guess it's easier for them (NO) to marry one who doesn't profess allegiance to any Pope - meaning Non-Catholics.

  • It would be difficult enough if a SSPX supporter was married to a NO Catholic, but sedevacantist and sedeplenist marrying each other would really take first prize.  :roll-laugh1:

    Chant,
This is your forum.  What do YOU believe?

If you are, yourself, not a sedevacanist, why would you encourage a debate with one?   Every time someone denies the pope they commit a serious, mortal sin.  Let alone that it is, in it of itself, to deliberately stir up contention, and then even go so far as to sit back and deny you encouraged/suggested and facilitated the "debate" --- even publicly among Catholics.

And what enjoyment does one get out of bashing an order such as the Fraternal Society of St. Peter?  My own answer:  about the same "enjoyment" the Jєωs got out of sentencing our Lord to death.

I'm done with this "Catholic" forum message board.  What a mistake it was coming back.

Because there is a crisis in the Church. Chant is not sitting around and enjoying any bashful like the FSSP. He would have never locked that topic if he did.

Chant is being fair. Be it with the sedes or the indults. In fact, many people have said a lot of irrate things about the SSPX but he continues moderating. I hope you wouldn't get offended just because someone said hurtful things about the FSSP.

No one is perfect, and there's always room for a benefit of doubt.

You are always welcome to come back here and I hope you're comforted. Take care and God bless!

Why do you think I would take what you say personally?   Is this reference to how you would feel in my position?   I am not hurt, I am disappointed in some of some of you think and behave much like the Pharisees and Jєωs.

Who are you that you should put down such holy priests?   (I ask this rhetorically.  May God help clear this question up for you sooner than later.)

I'm not sure what you want from the message board exactly, Mousey.

If you don't want to argue with sedevacantists, don't engage them in debate. Chant made it clear that sedes could only post in the Crisis section and when a thread became too heated, it was locked and moved to the Crisis section.

You have contributed thoughtfully and eloquently to other discussions, and I don't quite see the problem. There hasn't been a frequent anti-FSSP diatribe, indeed the difference between the FSSP and SSPX is often irrelevant in the discussion of social ills etc. It strikes me as odd when members insist on committing "boardicide". Do you want to debate with other members of the FSSP? In that case, an SSPX-sympathetic board seems hardly the place. Do you want a board free of sedevacantists? Chant clearly points out in the rules that sedes are allowed to post. There are other, more hardcore message boards out there, but some don't allow women to debate past the point of swopping recipies and comparing skirt lengths. Cathinfo seems a pretty good forum to me.
