This is so important, I hardly know how to broach it.  I know I'm not Miss Popularity right now, but please don't kill the message because of the messenger.

It has come to my attention that a few people are working very hard to destroy the pre V II popes.  I know a lot of people think these things should be covered up and put behind us.  I don't believe in that because things that are covered up and put in the dark tend to fester all the more and do more harm in the end.  I believe they should be brought into the light and de fused, so to speak.

In the interest of justice, we actually have the obligation to clear these people's names.  In the interest of mercy, we have the obligation to protect souls from being scandalized.  And from what?  As one poster said, from air.  That old devil has found a really good way to destroy the influence of whom he will.  All he has to do is say, "Oh, he/she is one of us."  He can make this up out of air, because we are quite willing to believe him.

And that's how we have to stop him---by our unbelief.  By our baptismal vows, by our stead fast belief in God, by our contempt for his lies.  If we don't buy into them, they won't sell.  It's that simple.  And others won't so easily buy into them either, when they see we don't.  Oh, sure, a few may be guilty, but I don't think we should hang 9 innocent men to make sure we get the one guilty one.  We become witch hunters with that attitude.  And that few can be safely left to God, Who alone reads hearts.
