  • Would imprecatory prayer for Francis be morally permissible or even morally laudable?
By this I mean a prayer to God that Francis be either converted or that he be terminated.  In colloquial and strong terminology it is sometimes seen as the turn or burn prayer, the one sometimes said by a zealous soul or two in front of an abortion clinic where a particular individual continues butchering/murdering the lives of the unborn day after day.

A rosary/imprecatory prayer crusade for Francis, anyone?

  • Why the upset over Frankie? He's just implementing Vatican 2.

Point noted!  Yet still the question remains.  Would imprecatory prayer for Francis be morally permissible or even morally laudable?

  • At our chapel, when the rosary is prayed publicly,  Fr. asks us to include the "conversion of the Pope" along with the  many other intentions, too.

Please ask you priest if it is perfectly acceptable under Catholic teaching to pray for his conversion and if that not be the Will of God, then his imminent dispatch ?
"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

  • Can we seriously pray for the intentions of Pope Francis, so the only option is to pray for his conversion, we cannot wish something bad to befall him, maybe his imminent dispatch to a better place would be acceptable....

Our Lord will judge his place, Heaven or Hell, but praying for his dispatch is congruous with the Triumph of Mother Mary's immaculate Heart... is it not?

  • Maybe, just maybe he could "pull" a Benedict the XIV and resign. I won't hold my breathe on it, but it's worth the thought.

  • What gets me what is the end game of implementing Vatican 2.

Is is completely surrender to the secular atheism that is running
    rampant now in the world.

Novus Ordo Catholics I know seems to confirm this fact by the way
    they live.

  • David prayed this way in the Psalms, and he was a "man after God's own Heart".
Depending on what you think is motivating/animating Pope Francis, maybe we should pray for an exorcism.
