As one of Lefebvre's chosen, he needs to be active in the trad world and not become a prisoner of Fellay's vindictiveness and ambitions. A split would be a good thing, pushing people off the fence, and polarise the messy SSPX position on many issues. The Fellay party can shuffle off to become the leading player in the ED niche in the conciliar pantheon .... and true trads can regroup under an uncompromising banner working against Roman perfidy. Such an opportunity is needed to break the stagnation of two decades post-ABL.
