Oh, dear.  I am so sorry to hear that, Myrna.  Let me tell you a story---a true story.

There was a woman lying in a coma for a long time. There was a priest who would sit with her sometimes.  He would pray and talk to her, but she just lay there in her coma.  Then one day he got the idea that she might need to make a confession.  So he went through a confession with her, asking the questions and leaving her to answer them in her head.  When he was done, she suddenly sat up, exclaimed over something beautiful she saw, and dropped over dead.

We can't know the ways of God.  But we have lots of reason to hope.

We have some good guide lines here and I thought of another.  Jesus taught us to sacrifice ourselves to save others while satan teaches us to sacrifice others to save ourselves.  What I want to do with this thread is figure out what Jesus would say we should do about this situation.

It would help a lot if we knew what the Fantastic Four are hoping to accomplish, but failing that we can look at what they do accomplish.  So far I've only noticed that they will not tolerate anything said in America's favor, that they despise all things the Founding Father's said or did and won't allow anyone to bring it up.  Anyone else have any ideas on this?

Quote from: Trinity
I'm going to take DMorgan up on his cites.  Are you saying that the one who holds out to the end, the same shall be saved?

If you read the Old Testament, you will notice the our Holy God severely chastised the Jews numerous times for disobeying His comandments. God always preserved a holy, faithful remnant to fulfill His promise to Abraham, Solomon, and David. All of the ancient prophets fortold of coming chastisements to the jews due to their repeated unbelief and turning away. The Teachings of our Lord in the New Testament are no different. Just as the Consecration says "For Many" not all church militant will hold on to the faith. We see this around us constantly. The changes to Holy Mother Church since V-II have led many souls to hell, and many more will follow.

The Holy Gospel according to St. Mathew, chapter 24:
"6 And you shall hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that ye be not troubled. For these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be pestilences, and famines, and earthquakes in places: 8 Now all these are the beginnings of sorrows. 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall put you to death: and you shall be hated by all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then shall many be scandalized: and shall betray one another: and shall hate one another.

11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall seduce many. 12 And because iniquity hath abounded, the charity of many shall grow cold. 13 But he that shall persevere to the end, he shall be saved."

The sins of many, inside and outside of Holy Mother Church has purchased this chastisement, but we can persevere to the end. Pray for God to restore Holy Mother Church.
