Bergy Interview Click Here (http://www.repubblica.it/cultura/2013/10/01/news/pope_s_conversation_with_scalfari_english-67643118/?ref=HREA-1)
La Repubblica's founder, Eugenio Scalfari : I am grateful for this question. The answer is this: I believe in Being, that is in the tissue from which forms, bodies arise.
Bergy : "And I believe in God, not in a Catholic God, there is no Catholic God, there is God and I believe in Jesus Christ, his incarnation. Jesus is my teacher and my pastor, but God, the Father, Abba, is the light and the Creator. This is my Being. Do you think we are very far apart?"

If he was misquoted before in other interviews as some people claim, then why would he keep calling these same people to grant them interviews? There's no clear mention of the divinity of Christ, nor the Trinity, nor the Holy Ghost. By their deeds you shall know them.

Not to worry, just another case of invincible ignorance playing out in real time.

Fr. Cekada's tweet this morning made me laugh ugly:
Summary of Francis' latest interview:
Francis: "There is no Catholic God."
God: "There is no Catholic Pope!"
:roll-laugh2:

People have been making excuses for decades. I remember the early days of JP2 where people claimed he was "a prisoner in the Vatican" and made to do things against his will.
People will believe what they want to believe.
Fact is all Popes are culpable for their actions and inactions. And for anyone to claim ignorance on their behalf is just insane. Even if the journalist did lie, the Pope would have a duty to very publicly correct his statements bearing in mind the scandal he would cause if he did not.
If he does not correct them, one can assume he meant it.

That is...perfect.

Ggreg makes an excellent point.
If this can all be boiled down to the media getting it wrong, then why isn't the Vatican issued corrections in their media mouthpeices? I mean corrections and not verbally trickery.
If this is just media mischief, why isn't the Vatican asking for permission to pre-read every interview release? It's fairly standard practice out there in the world.

The Vatican doesn't need to issue a statement, because there is a world of internet neo-cats and tads that serve as Francis' unofficial translators.
-
So is Francis denying that Jesus Christ is God?
Is he forgetting that Jesus Christ founded ONE Church, and anyone that is honest who takes the time can trace that One Church back to what we call the Catholic church, yes Universal, meaning for all men. Not universal meaning any belief under the sun.
Or does Francis just believe that Jesus Christ is God, and is the founder of only One Church, but Jesus Christ Himself did not embrace it. What is it?
Explain yourself Francis.

The Vatican has a press office, that's what I was referring to.
The Vatican is actually playing the media. The game is being played by the Vatican and they are playing it in such a manner that, at a future date, they can try to bring out the lie that the media manipulated the pope's words.
The whole "actual Vatican II council" and the legendary, mythical "council of the media" that B XVI brought out for public consumption is such an example.

I was being sarcastic, alluding to the wash of neo-cats who seem to know exactly what Francis meant and are explaining it for all of this.

It's kinda funny how people seem to be making this pope out to be worse than the other conciliar popes.
PPVI was worse IMO, after all, he was the one who dismantled the faith and Church and paved the way for PF and sent the entire world into an ecuмenical down spin. Then there was JP2 who fully understood what the NO was all about and did what he could to implement the evil thing. Among the atrocities were kissing the Koran and Assisi - all that he did during his reign was saying the same thing as PF - that there is no Catholic God, but instead of him saying it out loud, he said it by example.
If there is anything worth noting about this pope or non-pope or anti-pope or who knows what he is, is that we can look at what he is literally doing for his part of the process in the fulfillment of the demolition of the Church. Not that they will succeed, but the darts he is throwing certainly can cause some serious wounds in the mean time.
And like the days of PPVI when the overwhelming multitude of Catholics compromised because the pope said it was needed, we should expect the identical results here - only worse because thanks to technology today that was unavailable back in the 60s and 70s, more fools will rush into ruin today than did so back then.
I don't look for any NO Cardinals or Bishops speak up in defense of the truth, rather, I look for them to support the pope in his heresies same as they've done for the last 50 years.
For 40 years I've been hearing that "it's going to get worse before it gets better" - so far, those who said that were right on the money - and it still goes on - it's still true - things can only keep getting worse and worse before it gets any better, the devil never sleeps.

He can't. According to Laramie, he doesn't know what he meant. YWIA.

Bergoglio appears to be an Arian. He says that Jesus is God's incarnation but God the Father is the Creator.
The distinction here is important when he uses a word like "but".

And you think that mystics have been important for the Church?
"They have been fundamental. A religion without mystics is a philosophy."
Do you have a mystical vocation?
"What do you think?"
I wouldn't think so.
"You're probably right. I love the mystics; Francis also was in many aspects of his life, but I do not think I have the vocation and then we must understand the deep meaning of that word. The mystic manages to strip himself of action, of facts, objectives and even the pastoral mission and rises until he reaches communion with the Beatitudes. Brief moments but which fill an entire life."
Has that ever happened to you?
"Rarely. For example, when the conclave elected me Pope. Before I accepted I asked if I could spend a few minutes in the room next to the one with the balcony overlooking the square. My head was completely empty and I was seized by a great anxiety. To make it go way and relax I closed my eyes and made every thought disappear, even the thought of refusing to accept the position, as the liturgical procedure allows. I closed my eyes and I no longer had any anxiety or emotion. At a certain point I was filled with a great light. It lasted a moment, but to me it seemed very long. Then the light faded, I got up suddenly and walked into the room where the cardinals were waiting and the table on which was the act of acceptance. I signed it, the Cardinal Camerlengo countersigned it and then on the balcony there was the '"Habemus Papam".
Our fearless mystic leader. Also, do I detect a hint that he may be a little "light on his feet?"

From the interview:
Were you seduced by Communism?
"Her materialism had no hold over me. But learning about it through a courageous and honest person was helpful. I realized a few things, an aspect of the social, which I then found in the social doctrine of the Church."
I didn't see this point discussed. To me it is quite disturbing that he sees communism in the social doctrine of the Church. What did others think about this?

So many quotes, so little time.
