How were doubtful priestly ordinations and doubtful episcopal consecrations dealt with in the Arian crisis?

Except for the Protestant heresy which denies many of the Sacraments, the heresies prior to the advent of Modernism and the establishment of Conciliarism in the 1960s, the heresiarchs did not normally tamper with the substance of the sacraments.

Geremia - I am currently reading the big 4 volume lives of the saints by butler(iv'e read about 1 vol. so far), and I can recall saints rejecting holy orders/consecration and holy communion from arians.  I can recall about 3-5 occasions so far where Butler mentions saints refusing their sacraments(perhaps becoming martyrs because of it).  There was one instance where a christian population rejected a bishop citing his appointment as an "irregularity".  

There is a justifiable reason to doubt the sacraments coming from the "new" NO rites.
