  • Anybody know why the Novus Ordo changed 1/1 Feast from Circuмcision of Our Lord to the Solemnity of Mary?

  • Probably not because they were trying to be more Catholic.  Our Lady was always honored on 1/1.  So rather than changing from one thing to another, the Novus Ordo succeeded in removing any connection to the circuмcision of Our Lord.  Dom Gueranger points out that it was the first time Our Lord shed his blood for us.

I just think it odd given the desire for the NO to find common ground with the Jews.  Why wouldn't they want to keep it?

John XXIII suppressed the Feast of the Circuмcision in 1960, and therefore it does not appear in the later 1962 MR.

Since the SSPX wants to be strictly 1962, they cannot celebrate the suppressed feast.

  • Speaking of Precious Blood, July 1 the feast of the Precious Blood was also knocked out, rid of!  Why? Because IMO to take us away from Truth, that the Powers are in the Precious Blood, in all sacraments.

In the modern world, we are to think we have powers. Remember the Drug programs, "Just Say No".  Well, they were proven not to work, only got worse. There went all our $$ too.

I met a lady, whose boyfriend, was a drinker. She said he can stop, he has before, for a year.  I asked, he has power to stop?  Where does this power come from?  Well, him she said.  I said, without the powers of Jesus Christ Precious Blood in the sacraments, how far will he get?

  • Today is the Sunday between the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God and 6th January, which Sunday, in the newchurch, is Epiphany, knocking out the feast of the Most Holy Name of Jesus, the only Name by which we may be saved.

So there goes the Circuмcision of Jesus, the Feast of the Most Precious Blood and the Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus. No wonder we are in such a mess.

Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

  • The Octave day  of Major Feasts are being removed by the NO. No other feast day is to supersede the Octave day. The NO has changed the Octave feast  of the Circuмcision to Mary Mother of God; The Easter Octave has been changed to Divine Mercy Sunday and in 1969 the NO removed the Octave of Pentecost. It's a dismantling of Tradition.

But aren't the readings on that day about the Circuмcision anyway? There was a homily about it that day here in my neck of the woods.

Just the name was changed, nothing else, maybe barring restrictions on extra propers.
