“The Gospel does not tell us anything: if she spoke a word or not… She was silent, but in her heart, how many things told the Lord! ‘You, that day, this and the other that we read, you had told me that he would be great, you had told me that you would have given him the throne of David, his forefather, that he would have reigned forever and now I see him there!’ Our Lady was human! And perhaps she even had the desire to say: ‘Lies! I was deceived!’ John Paul II would say this, speaking about Our Lady in that moment. But she, with her silence, hid the mystery that she did not understand and with this silence allowed for this mystery to grow and blossom in hope."

Have you ever heard of Pauline Books & Media?  They've already re-written it.

They re-wrote the Angelus, the Nicene Creed, the Psalms -- "Nothing Sacred" isn't just a sitcom anymore.  It's reality.  I hope these people enjoy pain because there's going to be plenty of that where they're going, that is, if they're so lucky as to make it to Purgatory!!!

They've even dared to say that Our Lady didn't compose it.  They say she just copied and pasted this from the Old Testament.

All I have to say is this:  When they meet their particular judgment, if they haven't confessed this blasphemy against the spouse of the Holy Ghost (remember what Our Lord said about blasphemy against the Holy Ghost), they had better be ready for what a jealous God is going to do to those who insult His Mother, His Spouse, His Daughter.  There is only one hope for them, and that is HER.  Because if She isn't going to defend them, they are going to be facing the divine Wrath, without any cloaking device, shields or bullet proof vest.

    If...

    "IT'S BETTER IN LATIN":smoke-pot:

...then why not have it in Latin?

    MAGNIFICAT

(CANTIcuм B. MARIAE VIRG. AD VESPERAS)

    MAGNIFICAT anima mea Dominum:
et exsultavit spiritus meus in Deo, salutari meo.
    Quia respexit humilitatem ancillae suae:
ecce enim ex hoc beatam me dicent omnes generationes.
Quia fecit mihi magna qui potens est:
            et sanctum nomen eius.
Et misericordia eius a progenie in progenies
            timentibus eum.
    Fecit potentiam in bracchio suo:
            dispersit superbos mente cordis sui.
    Deposuit potentes de sede,
            et exaltavit humiles.
    Esurientes implevit bonis:
            et divites dimisit inanes.
    Suscepit Israel, puerum suum,
            recordatus misericordiae suae.
Sicut locuts est ad patres nostros,
Abraham et semini eius in saecula.
Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto.
Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper,
            et in saecula saeculorum.  Amen.

If you think it's "too much" or whatever, I'll have you know there are thousands of protestants in the world today who have this Latin prayer memorized.  Are you going to let the protestants show you up?

N.B.  You can most easily put your best foot forward with the Gloria Patri at the end, because Prots don't include that Catholic prayer.  They say it's "too Catholic."  (Uhhh... and the rest above it isn't????????)

  • And there are STILL Catholics defending this!

Seriously, I can't take this anymore.

For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. (Matthew 24:24)

    How about this:

A man recognized worldwide as Pope by the vast majority of Catholics and therefore by the vast majority of non-Catholics, is a man, whose words resemble the faith of Catholics less than did the words of the now-deceased Billy Graham, and is on the verge of declaring two new saints who are "conciliar" popes whose words were alternately more Catholic than Graham or less Catholic than Graham, but sometimes more reminiscent of Graham Crackers.

I didn't finish this thought........ IF H.H. is farther from Catholicism than is someone who, in life was not Catholic and who therefore could not be in heaven (since there are no non-Catholics in heaven), THEN, how can it be said that  A)  H.H. is Catholic, or  B)  that his declaration regarding the sanctity of someone else can have any basis in objective reality?

    This is a rhetorical question.

    Typo.................

If  "IT'S BETTER IN LATIN" then why not show it in Latin?

In case any readers of this thread might be interested in some Marian understanding that H.H. is somehow lacking, look no further than the Canticle of the Blessed Virgin, which see.  In this is the sum of ancient Scripture before the Gospel and revelation of Jesus, and it embodies the contemplation of Our Lady who had just been given a lot to think about, approximately 10 weeks prior to its announcement at her Visitation to her cousin Elizabeth.

    .           MAGNIFICAT
(CANTIcuм B. MARIAE VIRG. AD VESPERAS)

    MAGNIFICAT anima mea Dominum:
et exsultavit spiritus meus in Deo, salutari meo.
    Quia respexit humilitatem ancillae suae:
ecce enim ex hoc beatam me dicent omnes generationes.
Quia fecit mihi magna qui potens est:
            et sanctum nomen eius.
Et misericordia eius a progenie in progenies
            timentibus eum.
    Fecit potentiam in bracchio suo:
            dispersit superbos mente cordis sui.
    Deposuit potentes de sede,
            et exaltavit humiles.
    Esurientes implevit bonis:
            et divites dimisit inanes.
    Suscepit Israel, puerum suum,
            recordatus misericordiae suae.
Sicut locutus est ad patres nostros,
Abraham et semini eius in saecula.
Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto.
Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper,
            et in saecula saeculorum.  Amen.

This prayer, composed by Our Lady and known in Sacred Tradition as the Canticle of the Blessed Virgin, is found in many places throughout the liturgical year, and in at least 9 different musical arrangements, not including the variations that occur at times where portions are used and with different grammar to reflect the specific occasion and application of the respective segment in use.

One could say it's a condensed and seed form of the Old Testament, as it were the ultra-short Cliff Notes version of the OT.  When St. Luke says "she pondered these things in her heart," we ought to see that it takes a whole lot of 'pondering' to condense what was then all of Scripture into 89 Latin words.  In like manner, the Third Secret of Fatima will have the essential summary of our modern age in 26 lines of Portuguese.

If you think it's "too much" or whatever, I'll have you know:  there are thousands of protestants in the world today who have this Latin prayer memorized, as you see it above (although I haven't heard them memorizing any of the variations that occur throughout the year).  Are you going to let the protestants show you up?

N.B.  You can most easily put your best foot forward with the Gloria Patri at the end, because Prots don't include that Catholic prayer.  They say it's "too Catholic."  (Uhhh... and the rest above it isn't????????)

Sorry, my mistake!  You're correct, he's still living.  Therefore, HE STILL HAS A CHANCE!!

    Notify poche immediately!!

The family asks for our prayers:

    Quote
Graham has been in a weakened condition since his 95th birthday party Nov. 7, but his vital signs are still strong, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association spokesman Mark DeMoss said Sunday.

STORY: Rev. Billy Graham 'extremely weak'; son asks for prayers
STORY: Evangelist Billy Graham, 95, released from hospital

"People keep saying different things, some good and some not so good," said DeMoss. "But he's about the same. I think everybody's intentions are good. The family members want everybody to pray for Mr. Graham, and I understand that."

His salvation hangs in the balance -- all he's got to do is abjure his error and become Catholic, and offer his daily cross to God as penance in reparation for his sins.

So he could use our prayers.  We ought to all say a prayer for Billy Graham.

And forget my silly jokes above.  I was out of line.  Sorry.

.Hey, poche, since H.H. is all about conversion of sinners and salvation of souls, what do you suppose he would say to Billy Graham?  And would you approve?

  • His Humbleness would encourage and embolden Mr. Graham in his heresy in true "who am I to judge" fashion, thereby foresaking Mr. Graham's poor soul to damnation, meanwhile drawing fanfare of conciliarists, heretics, infidels, pagans, Jєωs, fαɢɢօts, and assorted other liberals, modernists, and neo-cons, in his "aw-shucks" calculated grandstand rock-star egotistical manner, all the while emboldening all who are on their paths to hell, and sending the message to conciliarists and other weak Catholics that perhaps fαɢɢօtry, heresy, etc "can't we all just get along" bullshit excuses for human beings are as good as being Catholic and adhering to and following TRUE Catholicism.

  • Pray for the conversion of Mr. Graham and His Humbleness.  Perhaps two miracles may be simultaneously granted, one as shocking as the other.  But never doubt the power or the ways of the Lord.
