This makes no sense to me. It would mean that ignorance is useful to avoid sin and ʝʊdɛօmasonry is correct to make people ignorant.

Well, deliberately staying in ignorance in order to avoid willingly sinning is also sinful.

Sin is sin, however one can sin in ignorance and not be held guilty. Once a person realizes he sinned, he must repent, change his behavior, or, if it was in the past, a simple confession suffices. Yes, remaining deliberately in ignorance is a sin!
