Canonist Maroto: Heretics Are Incapable Of Election To The Papacy

Filippo Maroto, Institutiones Iuris Canonici Ad Normam Novi Codicis, 1919, Vol. 2, p. 172: 

“Indeed heretics and schismatics are barred from the Supreme Pontificate by the divine law itself, because, although by divine law they are not said to be incapable of participating in certain types of ecclesiastical jurisdiction, nevertheless they must certainly be regarded as excluded from occupying the throne of the Apostolic See, which is the infallible teacher of the true faith and the center of ecclesiastical unity.”
