Bumping because this is a very important topic. It is very interesting to see how clear father's and authority of the Church were in the past against the heresy of the Pythagoreans such as innumerable worlds and suns. Even the idea that the earth moves was a big no no (to put it mildly). So the fact that the modern church give way to 'science' on these matters is no small affair.

Cassini has shared a great deal of research on this matter and it has puzzled me.  How could the Church declare Heliocentrism is heresy and then reverse itself while remaining indefectible?

I've never liked this guy due to his rubbish arguments against EENS and water Baptism (i.e promoting BoD). Seeing this article I stopped reading when he started yapping about the jews not trying to enslave everyone, and calling people "science deniers".

It's not particularly difficult.  At no point has the Church taught Heliocentrism, but simply stopped condemning it, an act of negligence, and there's no protection of the Holy Ghost against negligent and derelict popes.
