  • I was discussing with someone today the numerous problems of working within Conciliar structures and one of my examples was how the FSSP doesn't have a bishop.

Can anyone tell me more about the ordination history of FSSP priests?

For example, let's say I believe the NO consecrations to be problematic. How many un-doubtful priests would that leave in the FSSP?

Any estimates or knowledge of individual priests is welcome.

  • This link has recent FSSP ordinations.

I looked up Abp. Prendergast, one of the bishops from that link.

    Possibly problematic.

  • The first FSSP priests left the SSPX.  They are undoubtedly valid priests, though they work under the conditions of the Conciliar sect and they should be avoided for that reason except when in danger of death.

There are other FSSP priests who were ordained by bishops who were consecrated in the traditional rite, but it would take research into the ordination of each priest to determine which ones are validly ordained and which ones were ordained by Conciliar rite bishops.  For that reason, even these priests should be avoided unless one has investigated the ordination history of each individual priest.

  • As the pages of the calendar turn, 1988 is going farther and farther into the recesses of history and pre-1968 consecrated bishops are becoming fewer and fewer.

The advocates for the new rites of consecration openly declared that a new kind of bishop was necessary for a post-Conciliar church.  The rites of consecration were altered before the rites of ordination so those who sought destruction went for the gold before collecting the silver, that much is obvious.

Not terribly many. My best friend from childhood is now an FSSP priest. He was ordained by a bishop who was consecrated in the New Rite. That is par for the course as far as I know. There are a few older priests ordained by Bishops consecrated in the old rite, and a few priests were ordained in the SSPX. These are in the minority, needless to say.

  • As far as I could learn (8 years ago) FSSP priests are all ordained by NO Bishops.  There may be a "bishop" somewhere who was so pre-1968 but we shouldn't have to investigate every single one in order to trust FSSP.

I think it is safest to avoid them all together unless one has the time to do a proper investigation.

  • Marielar:  Don't forget the FSSP priest that was murdered with 11 shots, Kenneth Walker and Fr. Terra who was beaten and stabbed, who almost died.

FSSP are indult, N O and the above I do believe was an inside job.  Some even think SEcret Society.  It would not surprise me.

Is it not true, that any group that appears to keep reverence and what is or appears to be a True Mass, is to be eliminated?
