  • I was scanning the shelves a couple months back at the book place when I spotted one of those  idiots or dummies books on Freemasons. Read about the author, a high level freemason with a few decades in. I went to the index a found term "Catholic" to see what buddy had to say about his natural enemy the Church.

I went to section, in their the author lauded and praised the Knights of Columbus as being a sort of ambassador for cooling relations between the masons and the Church and getting together in a conciliatory fashion.

I decided to check it out and found the following online:

Freemasons and Knights of Columbus have pancake breakfast

The fact the Baltimore Catechism tells Catholics not to join societies with secret oaths is the reason why I have always resisted and been opposed to the Knights of Columbus.

The perfect gateway for the Freemasons to infiltrate the Church and gain a foothold would be through the Knights of Columbus. If they can persuade you to say a secret oath to join the Knights then why not the Freemasons ?

  • This conciliarist was in both and, I believe, now denounces both.

I thought the Freemasons were already in?  They have hijacked an ecuмenical council and rewritten the Mass, right?  If so, why bother infiltrating a group with no power?

And yes, you must be right, the path to world domination starts at a pancake breakfast.  I believe this is foretold in scripture.

It starts by surrounding young men who without much thought join one group and then get surrounded and persuaded to do something else "harmless".

Why do you think in the above situation this KOC chapter decided to have a co-venture that would surround their members and the parish community with masons in an open manner like this ?

Let's have breakfast with masons, RIGHT !

The Knights of Columbus was founded in the 19th century, long before Vatican II.

  • Actually the Knights of Columbus was founded as a fraternal organization to be the anti-Masons.

  • A note- the Knights are not an official arm of the Church. We have one parish in our diocese in which the priest has disbanded the chapter.

They were founded to help widows and orphans. I had a friend who died in July and I asked a knight how I could go about helping his kids with a grant of a couple hundred dollars for back to school- this guy told me that the Knights did not do that, his exacts words, 'We do not want to open the flood gates.'

  • I did some research of the Knights of Columbus and I was looking to see if any pope gave them a blessings when the group started, you know, something to say they were legit.  I found nothing.  And the K of C came about in the late 1700's I think, and that was when the USA had a big problem with the Masons.  Just because the K of C was founded on the goal of widows and orphans, could have been the horse and pony show that they needed, you know, the smoke screen.

At heart, it is an insurance company. It may have been more than that at one time. Once you say the secret oath you get a sales pitch for insurance and then learn that annual dues are about $30. The CEO of the Knights makes over 1.5 million dollars a year.

If you go online you can find complaints for men who have joined and then were denied insurance for health reasons. Okay, so you formed to help widows and orphans but then you turn away (from insurance) the most vulnerable. Is that a good thing ? It is if you are an insurance company, not so much if you are a charitable organization.

The Knights do a lot of good things, don't get me wrong, but the sense of elitism and exclusion I have witnessed does more harm than good at the parish level.

That is incorrect. The Knights of Columbus were founded in 1882.

  • To each his own!

I could never belong to any group that wore "play clothes" like those wore by the KofC and Masons. I don't even see kings wearing those outfits anymore, they wear suits.

It all looks childish to me. Men that never grew up. No different than these idiots:

Yeah, and I have better things to do than to volunteer to be outranked by someone who does not seem to know the War of 1812 ended 101 years ago. All this based on purchasing life insurance.
