He disputed with Netanyanhu over the language that Jesus spoke. He stopped and all but said, "Tear down this wall!" at the seperation wall. He rode around the mideast without the armored car. He calle on the president of Israel to open up the holy sites to all people, not just the tourist. Doesn't look like too much of a coward to me.

Hiding his cross when around the company of non-Catholics is a cowardly act. He could've, if not at least witnessed, softened some of the anti-Catholic attitudes they might have. Ultra-Orthodox Jєωιѕн attitudes toward Catholicism can range from a simple unbelief to things too vile for this forum.

What is the deal with the head covering? I do not think in those pictures the crucifix is covered. I do think it is covered in the other pictures. The difference is clear: covered when he is with the Rabbis.

Like I said on another forum, based on my own experience years ago I suspect that the Rabbis requested/required it. Francis should not have listened to such a request, but I'm not surprised that he did.
