Pope to stop condemning same-sex civil partnerships hints leading cardinal in move which could be step towards Catholic gαy marriage!!

Cardinal Timothy Dolan said the pontiff wants same-sex unions studied
He said on U.S TV that Pope Francis wants to know what’s driving them.

Pope Francis has suggested that the Vatican could support gαy civil unions in the future, according to one of the church’s most senior cardinals.

Cardinal Timothy Dolan said that the pontiff wants the Catholic Church to study same-sex unions, ‘rather than condemn them’.

Cardinal Dolan told American television that Francis wants church leaders to ‘look into it and see the reasons that have driven them.’

Pope Francis – pictured holding his weekly general audience on March 5, 2014, in Vatican City – wants the Catholic Church to study same-sex unions rather than condemn them

Debate: Archbishop Dolan said his own view was that gαy unions could ‘water down’ the symbolic meaning of traditional marriage

‘It wasn’t as if he came out and approved them,’ Dolan told NBC on Sunday.  ‘He said, “Rather than quickly condemn them, let’s just ask the questions as to why that has appealed to certain people.”’

In an interview to mark his first year in the church’s top job, Pope Francis last week reaffirmed the Vatican’s opposition to gαy marriage but indicated that some types of civil unions could be acceptable to the church.

The Pope restated the church’s teaching that ‘marriage is between a man and a woman,’ but added ‘We have to look at different cases and evaluate them in their variety.’

Cardinal Dolan, pictured here with Barack Obama in New York in 2012, told American television that Pope Francis wants church leaders to ‘look into same sex unions and see the reasons that have driven them’

Francis can save himself the trouble, for Frances, the  :dancing-banana: knows what's driving "gαy marriage.". It's called sin.  The guy behind it goes by various names, Satan, the devil, Lucifer, Beelzebub...
If sodomy is allowed by the so-called Catholic Church, what is Bishop Fellay going to do when he finds himself a "member"? :barf:
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • This is a good time for an SSPX priest to write an article for the Angelus explaining why sodomites should be either imprisoned or worse by the government for their crimes.

Please pray for the repose of my soul.

  • There's 14 minutes and 44 seconds I will never, ever be able to get back.

The winds are truly blowing in the Conciliar church and it is a house built on sand.

Uh, I couldn't get past his saying that Francis is a good teacher.  You know, cuz his strategy is to leave us guessing.

     :barf:
For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. (Matthew 24:24)

  • My hope is that God will draw good out of this evil, in that He will allowed the scales to fall from the eyes of those deceived by the heretical sect residing in the Vatican.

  • The mere fact that Francis even wants to study something so vile is quite telling.
"This principle is most certain: The non-Christian cannot in any way be Pope. The reason for this is that he cannot be head of what he is not a member. Now, he who is not a Christian is not a member of the Church, and a manifest heretic is not a Christian, as is clearly taught by St. Cyprian, St. Athanasius, St. Augustine, St. Jerome, and others. Therefore, the manifest heretic cannot be Pope." -- St. Robert Bellarmine

You are right, the facade is breaking apart, and will not hold much longer.

I don't hold out as much hope for that.  My mom, who's always been very religious, but brought us up in the NO, was unfazed by the fact that Francis asked a congregation of evangelical protestant ministers to pray for him, who then proceeded to "pray" in gibberish.  I told her about the incident today and it didn't bother her.  She said, well there's biblical precedent for tongues.  I simply could not get through to her that protestant gibberish is the direct opposite of tongues, and therefore, diabolic.

  • Right now they say that they are studying the question. When they get finished they may very well condemn the whole thing.

Because, after all, sodomy is so morally nuanced with many contributing environmental factors that we really can't form a judgement on it without a careful study.

"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

Assisi 2 pushed me over the edge. I think there are many fence sitters and that we could all do much more good if we agreed on more on these controversies.

Why do they need to study the question ? If you agree with God it is evil and worthy of God to deploy His angels to obliterate it with the sword.

They should break up into small groups and then do a group hug, and each group can report their findings and then the leader can say what he was going to say all along anyway.  Maybe Mahony can be there.  He was at the first 'papal mass' in the front row, smirking.

And who knows what the outcome will be?  It could be anything!

Oh, but remember, if anyone wants to get "person of the year" again, they had better not have anything disparaging to say about the sin that cries to heaven for vengeance, such as, for example, calling it by it's real name, the sin of unnatural lust which cries to heaven for vengeance. That wouldn't be ecuмenical.

The issue that they are studying is the civil issue of "civil unions." Illicit sɛҳuąƖ behaviour is still condemned but it is the political question and how we will operate in a  world where the civil laws are changing in a bad direction. For example there is divorce and remmariage. This type of civil marriage after divorce is generally invalid. The state does something here that the church doesn't recognize. I think it is a question of a possible political compromise. it is very likely that pope Francis will write an encyclical or an exhortation in which he condemns the whole affair. A similar thing happened with respect to artificial contraception. Everyone expected Pope Paul to endorse artificial contraception, or at least the "pill." Then he wrote Humanae Vitae in which he condemned artificial contraception. Then he went from being "politically popular" to being very unpopular.
