Pope Francis: Church could support civil unions

(CNN) - Pope Francis reaffirmed the Catholic Church's opposition to gαy marriage on Wednesday, but suggested in a newspaper interview that it could support some types of civil unions.

The Pope reiterated the church's longstanding teaching that "marriage is between a man and a woman." However, he said, "We have to look at different cases and evaluate them in their variety."

For instance, civil unions provide financial security to cohabitating couples, "as for instance in medical care," the Pope said in a wide-ranging interview published Wednesday in Corriere della Sera, an Italian daily.

A number of Catholic bishops have supported civil unions for same-sex couples, including Pope Francis when he was Archbishop of Buenos Aires in 2010, according to reports in National Catholic Reporter and The New York Times.

This is the first time a Pope has "indicated even tentative acceptance of civil unions," according to Catholic News Service.

And don't think for a minute that he wouldn't have some sort of "commitment ceremony" created and mandated for Catholic "cohabitating couples".

The signals about what this family conference in October is going to say are getting very bold, clear, and...satanic.

Whether you call it civil unions or ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ marriage it doesn't matter. Either way the state is legitimizing sodomy instead of doing its duty to suppress it.

This is what happens when liberals start inventing loopholes in solid Catholic dogma to make it relative or subjective.

The Enemy works in subtle ways, always keeping a low profile...and before you realize, it is already too late. This tactic is even more dangerous than one that is open and brutal because here you don't see the Enemy coming before it is too late.

It is like a boiling frog: when it is placed in boiling water, it will jump out, but if it is placed in cold water that is slowly heated, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death.

This metaphor is the perfect example of what that has produced this horrific diabolical disorientation within and outside the Church. The inability or unwillingness of people to react to significant changes within the Church that occur gradually.

Nothing that Pope Francis says is something new. It has been all part of the agenda.

Anyone know if there is a list somewhere compiling all of Pope Francis' outrageous remarks? I came here looking for where he declared that we're now saved through faith alone and clicked to read this instead. I can't keep up!

I just heard this story on late night TV. Host said the story (which I'd thought was a joke), then said, "I think when people lately go, 'Is the Pope Catholic?', they're actually asking." (And the audience erupted in laughter.)

Bergoglio just can't be serious. It's Ash Wednesday! —So I guess when he reads Apocalypse about fitting the blasphemies on his head, he doesn't know it's prophecy; he thinks it's an instruction manual?

And don't think for a minute that he wouldn't have some sort of "commitment ceremony" created and mandated for Catholic "cohabitating couples".

Pope Francis's idiocy and failure to lead the Church in favor of a Modernist agenda are scaring me. If he gets canonized after his death, I'm going to my grave a sedevacantist.
