The Pope pulled an altar boys' hands apart, while saying:

"Are your hands bound together? It looks like they're stuck."

This is a typical Protestant smear of Catholicism, ridiculing altar boys. Now, the Pope is doing it? The Pope mocks the proper posture for Catholics! And they're passing it off as a "light hearted moment."

How do you think this poor boy is going to feel for the rest of his life, knowing he was mocked by the Vicar of Christ? :really-mad2:

UTTERLY UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! LIGHTHEARTED MOMENT my foot!!!!!

I've kept out of the fray about Jorge. He can attack & make fun of trad adults but when he starts attacking,belittling, & embarrassing little trad children, - well then the fangs will come out.

I've never written to the Vatican before, but you better believe I will be tomorrow.

He can kiss all those other children, but he best leave his filthy paws off any child who shows that he's a trad.

This is absolutely unconscionable!!!!!!!!

How am I supposed to sleep tonite thinking of that poor boy? Can you imagine how his parents must feel?

I hope we get to know that boy's name so we can all write to that family.

Maybe the alter boy will someday realize that no true Vicar of Christ would do such a thing, ever, which means that he will realize that Francis I was really "Francis the Fake."

How sad. He is going to scandalize that child and his family. I'm sure his mother was mortified.

For a sect that raves about dignity, that boy certainly wasn't treated with any.

One can only wonder what would motivate someone to act in such a way towards a child, much less the Pope himself.

Just a knee jerk reaction to what he saw as he came along? Certainly not a premeditated action, one wouldn't think; but if not, than what? We can only surmise that it was an instinctive reaction on the part of the Pope to suddenly take advantage of the situation at "hand" and demonstrate his disdain for traditional prayer posture for an alter boy, or anyone for that matter. But why? We see a temptation for the Pope that he apparently couldn't seem to overcome - To pull a little boy's hands apart in such a childish display of ridicule for Catholic Tradition. But why - This is the question... Just why did the Pope feel the need to do such a thing on the spur of the moment? And to a little boy at that. Sometimes it's the little things like this that reveal our inner character, and they happen at the most inopportune times.

Make no mistake about it. This is a very telling and revealing situation to have unfold before the whole world. It should have never happened, to anyone, especially a child who was trying to show as much respect to his Lord as he could, in the only way he knew how - As a Catholic Alter-Boy...

I get the impression that this man doesn't believe in God. Not just from this but from everything he does. Tradition contains what it does because it is from people who believed in God, Francis and his new way is revolting against tradition and revolting against God. He substitutes his own ideas in the place of revealed religion and traditional discipline and we are left with sugar and mc donnels quality religion. He is pulling down what remains of the Catholic church and after him there will be only rubble. thus I prophesy.

Wrong. A charitable pope would have found a way to instruct without causing embarrassment. But we so often get confused between being charitable and being "nice".

That's why my issue is less with the "embarrassment" and more with the message.
