Bellarmines terse, pithy sentence well summarizes the feelings of numbers of theologians and popes of yore. Maybe it would help if the Francis simply donned a sandwich board with short messages emblazoned front and back. One would read: “I am an unrepentant heretic.” The other would announce: “I am a happy anti-Christ.” Such a gesture on the part of this “pope” would help us all achieve clarity, I think.

In Evangelli Gaudium, the pope speaks of the “divine life” of Jesus.
