    Given that some days ago Pope Francis greeted Katy Perry publicly, let me revisit the case she opened with the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Los Angeles.

    First, Katy Perry wanted to buy an old convent from the nuns, who did not want to sell to her because of her scandalous life. Second, the Sisters want to sell it to another person, but when everything was prepared, the Vatican denied permission. Next, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles took over the property in order to sell it to the pop star.

    The nuns continued to refuse to sell to Perry, and threatened to rescind their religious vows if the sale went through. The Archdiocese sold the property for $14.5 million to Perry. The nuns appealed to the Pope, asking him not to give his approval. One elderly nun, representing the others, collapsed and died during a courtroom hearing.


    The final act of the controversy is that Pope Francis not only gave his approval for the Archdiocese to sell the convent, but greeted Katy Perry in public and allowed her to be a speaker at a meeting in the Vatican.
    In her talk she promoted Transcendental Meditation for children.

    Francis did not care about the fact the pop star is a known immoral star and a disseminator of Satanism, as shown in the photos below.

    He also did not care to help the nuns - who dedicated their lives to the Church.

    It is quite expressive that Francis denied the Sisters their more elementary rights to their property? Is this not the behavior of a dictator?

    How amusing! A denial of Catholic nun's trying to uphold some vestige of the Faith and the 
    Novus Ordo hierarchy trying to overrule them for money and more nefarious reasons, and then along come the man who would be the defender of the Faith, and throws spits in the face of these nuns and all Catholics in deference the Satan as referenced by this creature.
    Here is the perfect example as to why one cannot assume that conciliarists have any desire to do what the Church does, and it is much more prudent to assume that they will not. Does Sean Johnson have an answer for this?  It throws his whole theology of presumption out of the window.

    Yes, that is correct. The vow of obedience is primarily to God. But it is also to those who hold the place as His representatives on earth. The mother superior says, "It is your turn to do the dishes." then it is her turn to do the dishes. The mother superior could be an evil person but in her capacity as mother superior she holds the place as God's representative and the sisters have taken a vow that they will obey her. If the mother superior were to say, "Don't go to mass on Sunday" or "I want you to sell drugs on the street corner." I could see disobedience. Sometimes we have to resist the evil that is among us. But in a property sale I just think that the sisters wrong.

    I don't understand how this dispute over a a property sale is in any way an upholding of the Catholic Faith. If anything these nuns are giving scandal by their disobedience. Now children will see their example and may say to one of their parents "Oh you were out drinking last night, therefore I don't have to clean up my room or cut the grass like you told me to."
