Post by: MrShort94 on November 21, 2020, 06:14:12 PM
Does anyone know who Fr. Sergius Maria DeMartini, FM of Apostolic Monastics Inc., San Diego, CA 92102 is?
What is his background for his ecclesiastical seminary formation?
Who ordained him a priest?
When was he ordained?
What rite did his ordination occur in?
What is his canonical status now (Diocese, Indult/Motu, SSPX, Independent, etc.)?

Subject: Fwd: Canonical Petition to Benevolent Bishop/Eparch

Your Lordship:
Praised be Jesus and Mary!
To summarize by way of introduction, I am a biritual (Latin/Slavonic
Rites) priest-monk who graduated in Rome from the Russicuм, the
Angelicuм and the Pontifical Oriental Institute, ordained (1987), still
incardinated with full faculties in the Byzantine Archeparchy of Beirut,
Lebanon and released with written canonical permission to found a
biritual monastic-community/public-oratory similar to the
successful Saint Elizabeth's Parish in downtown Denver of renowned Father
Chrysostom Frank.

Our hope is to incarnate such a mission in the heart of your
Diocese/Eparchy according to the St. Elizabeth Denver model
following our proposed Community's Directory and Customary (cf. separate
emails).

We would like permission to use approved english vernacular translations
in our liturgies both Roman and Byzantine.
I am fluent in English, Spanish,
French, and Italian plus Latin and Slavonic.

As you know, examples of urban missionary-monastic centers already
exist, especially since the 1950s with Mesnil-St.Loup (France) of Dom Emmanuel,
OSB, the present-day Benedictines in Chicago as well as
the Fraternity of Jerusalem in Paris, St. Mary's Mercy House in New
York and other metropolises throughout the world. Also venerable were the
biritual benedictine abbeys of Chevetogne (Belgium), Niederalteich (Germany)
and Lisle (USA).

We wish to bring the treasures of monastic spirituality, liturgy,
catechesis and pastoral service to the heart of the new desert, the post-modern,
post-Christian city, where consciously or subconsciously, souls are
desperate for access to these graces of Holy Mother Church.

We would strive to cooperate fully with the bishop/eparch, all his curia and
clergy and to be available to serve as requested according to the
capability of our semi-contemplative vocation.

I have docuмented proof of prior monastic experience and a canonical
novitiate already successfully completed. My previous years include a
secular BA in Health Education and Psychology from San Francisco State
University plus life and ministry on all continents (52 countries)
with the Little Brothers of Bl. Charles deFoucauld, the Missionaries of Charity
of St. Teresa of Calcutta, the Ukrainian Studite Monks, the Lebanese Melkite
Monks, etc.. I was born in San Francisco (1947) of first generation
Italian/French heritage and had 11 years of Jesuit and Dominican
education, not counting the rest.

There are several priests plus many other laymen/women committed to joining our Religious Community once canonical permission is granted for
public-association-of-the-faithful, priestly faculties, missio-canonica,
public-oratory status, etc., even if ad experimentum de facto initially.

The following friends of our Community have graciously allowed me to use
them as references with unconditional recommendations on our behalf:

- Abbot Philip Anderson,OSB, Clear Creek Abbey, Tulsa, OK;
- Abbot William Driscoll,MMA, Maronite Monks of Adoration, Petersham, MA;
- Fr. Basil Paris, Holy Transfiguration Skete, Eager Harbor, MI;
- Abbot James LiPrie,OSB, Opalousas, LA;
- Fr. Christopher Phillips, Pastor,Our Lady of the Atonement Anglo-Catholic
Use, San Antonio, TX;

- Fr. Eugene Linowski, Pastor Emeritus, St. John Chrysostom Ruthenian
Catholic Church, Columbus, OH;

- Fr. Prior John Burns,OCarm., Founder, Carmelite Hermits, Lake Elmo, MN;
- M. Emily-Ann Lindsey, Prioress General, All Saints Sisters of the Poor,
Baltimore, MD.;

- M. Miriam Moss,OSB., Foundress/Prioress General, Daughters of Mary,
Tulsa, OK;

- Fr. Hector Perez, STD., Pastor, St. Stephen Catholic Church, Pensacola, Fl..
We would welcome the opportunity to furnish any further requested
information and references, etc. toward obtaining episcopal approval....
for the glory of God, the salvation of souls and the good of Holy Mother Church.

Begging your Blessing respectfully,
Fr. Sergius (Demartini)
