Fr. Herman Kramer, The Book of Destiny (1956)

“If Satan would contrive to hinder a papal election, the Church would suffer great travail.”

In 1956, Fr. Herman Bernard Kramer published a work called The Book of Destiny (Imprimatur), which is an interpretation of the Apocalypse, the last book of the Holy Bible (otherwise known as the book of Revelation).

In Apocalypse 12:1-5, we read:

"And a great sign appeared in heaven: A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars: And being with child, she cried travailing in birth, and was in pain to be delivered. And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads, and ten horns: and on his head seven diadems: And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to be delivered; that, when she should be delivered, he might devour her son. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with an iron rod: and her son was taken up to God, and to his throne."

Catholic biblical scholars typically see "the woman" as a symbol of both the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Catholic Church. Applying this prophecy to the Church, Fr. Kramer comments (bold print added):

". . . However, the text demands a more specific application to the definite future event to which the prophecy obviously points, and in which the Church suffers the keenest pangs passing at that time through the greatest crisis of her whole life. In that travail, she gives birth to some definite 'person' who is to RULE the Church with a rod of iron (verse 5). It then points to a conflict waged within the Church to elect one who was to 'rule all nations' in the manner clearly stated. In accord with the text this is unmistakably a PAPAL ELECTION, for only Christ and His Vicar have the divine right to rule ALL NATIONS. Furthermore, the Church does not travail in anguish at EVERY papal election which can be held without trouble or danger. But at this time the great powers may take a menacing attitude to hinder the election of the logical and expected candidate by threats of a general apostasy, assassination or imprisonment of this candidate if elected. This would suppose an extremely hostile mind in the governments of Europe towards the Church and would cause intense anguish to the Church, because an extended interregnum in the papacy is always disastrous and more so in a time of universal persecution. If Satan would contrive to hinder a papal election, the Church would suffer great travail.

". . . As a dragon, Satan through the evil world-powers of that time will enter the Church, interfere with her liberty and perhaps by stealthy suggestions having long before directed the choosing of candidates for the episcopate will now endeavor by threats of force to hinder the election of the worthiest candidate for the papacy."

(Herman Bernard Kramer, The Book of Destiny [TAN Books Reprint, 1975], pp. 277-279.)

We mention this interpretation of Apocalypse 12:1-5 because it appears that it may have been fulfilled in the disputed papal conclave of 1958, which met from October 25-28 to elect a successor to Pope Pius XII. Instead of producing a true Pope, however, it produced Anti-Pope John XXIII, the former Cardinal Angelo Roncalli of Venice, who called the "Second Vatican Council" and prepared the way and laid the foundations for the Novus Ordo Religion. Since Pius XII's death, there has been no known valid Pope, and the result is precisely the "extended interregnum in the papacy" which Fr. Kramer warns against, causing "intense anguish to the Church" and "great travail."

More information on the 1958 conclave can be found in the following video clip:

It's where all the official trouble began: the conclave of October 1958, which met to elect a successor to Pope Pius XII, and, after a great many ballots and some curious shenanigans, presented Cardinal Angelo Roncalli as "Pope" John XXIII. We present this video not to support the claim that Cardinal Giusseppe Siri was actually Pope Pius XII's successor, but to make people aware of the mysterious goings-on at this conclave, to get people to investigate it, and to pinpoint the moment in Church history that appears to contain the cause of the Eclipse of the Catholic Church and the introduction of the Novus Ordo Church and its false "Popes" and false new religion.

"I receive Thee, redeeming Prince of my soul. Out of love for Thee have I studied, watched through many nights, and exerted myself: Thee did I preach and teach. I have never said aught against Thee. Nor do I persist stubbornly in my views. • Cardinal Siri cannot have been elected validly, since John XXIII and Paul VI were accepted by the whole Church; now, when a pope is validly elected, it prevents the acceptance of any other pope: God would not allow that someone be accepted peacefully and universally when a true pope has been elected before him. Therefore Cardinal Siri cannot have been validly elected in any way, that's theologically impossible.

Father Kramer's book may be the best when it concerns the meaning of the apocalyptical language; but he did not understand the idea of the "Great Harlot", and his interpration of chapters XII to XVIII is too literal. I have written a book which explains the true meaning of these chapters, based on the work of Father Kramer and that of my own brother: https://gloria.tv/text/Kpp4Xe5yCU992owY3uTjjwGM5

I am also about to publish a movie on this subject, in which my friend Éric Faure makes the parallel between the present situation and the maccabean crisis, because he is an expert in this field. But the movie will be in French, and it might be long to make the English version.

During the maccabean crisis, there were four antipopes, just like today, since John XXIII and Paul VI are legitimate popes, as taught by the Church doctrine (peaceful acceptance). Paul VI is compared to Joshua the High Priest in the Apocalypse, and we can also compare him to Onias III in the Old Covenant, who was believed to be dead whereas he was still alive.

Yes, and Vatican II was also "accepted by the whole Church".  Same principles apply.  I love the Universal Acceptance folks who at the same time reject Vatican II.  Not sure if you do, but most of the Traditional UA types do.  You of course believe that Paul VI is still alive in exile, having lived well into his 100s.

2nd part is a contradiction of your position.  According to the Siri thesis, Siri was validly elected BEFORE Roncalli and Monitini were "accepted".

It is not true that the v2 anti-popes were accepted by the whole church.  :detective:

It is not the first time that people do not understand my words on this subject.

What I meant is that God will never allow that a man be accepted peacefully and universally when a pope has been validly elected. The fact that John XXIII and Paul VI were peacefully accepted proves that no one was elected before them.

NB: The authentic magisterium can include errors, that's theologically possible, we have already spoken about that.

Paul 6 was not accepted peacefully.  Tons flocked from the religious life and the pews, those still alive are still bitter about and have lost the Faith.

  • You are wrong. In the first year of election - which is enough - he was accepted peacefully and universally, as written by the American Ecclesiastical Review. Almost nobody opposed him, you are not honest.

How can one know what he is about until they know what he is about?  By your reasoning any unknown apostate can be elected and "peacefully accepted" and therefore valid without question no matter what he does after the fact.

This would render the "papacy" meaningless.  A valid Pope is the Vicar of Christ.  What he binds on earth must be bound in Heaven!  All must submit to him at the peril of their souls.

  • I have already explained that the new mass and such evils did not come from Paul VI.

When someone has been peacefully accepted by the whole Church, he cannot be an antipope. It is the first element one should understand before he tries to think about the Church crisis.

Luciani and all his successors have not been accepted by the whole Church; but John XXIII and Paul VI were accepted peacefully, therefore there is no way to claim that they are antipopes: sedevacantism is a heresy.
