Won't be here much, Veritatis, but thanks for the welcome. I can barely make it to the computer and getting weaker daily. While I was in the hospital they kept saying I should have died (wishful thinking, do you think), my kidneys were failing, I could still have a heart attack, and so forth, till I almost turned my face to the wall and gave up. I chose to get mad and fight back, though, thus I escaped with my life. I do check in here from time to time, carefully avoiding upsetting threads. :scared2: But this one was just too stinky to leave lay.

Without sounding too much like a New Agey nutcase, I'd have to say that Western medicine is overly focused on symptoms (tylenol and advil, anyone?) and is not so interested in treating the deeper source of affliction. Also, that system seems to hold a fascination with being quite blunt and aggressive instead of passive. Surgery is recommended for quite a number of maladies, and I often wonder how necessary all of those surgeries are. Do we really need to slice all of these people and remove their organs (gall bladders, etc.)?

Just because Western medicine hasn't defined the true purpose of something, it doesn't mean that it is completely useless and ought to be removed.
