at least they would have less crimes and more human goodnes among themselves if they are influenced by The Church. Catholic missionaries helped many nations not just by preaching the Gosple. They institued schools and hospitals.
Not to trivilize salvation, just to remind ourselves of natural goodness and beauty of The Church.

They come as a package deal. The natural goodness is worth nothing without salvation.
