  • This thread is so as to not derail the subforum with the thread Sorry.

Cletus, I asked those questions addressed to sedevacantists seriously. In one thread in the Church in Crisis subforum, not one sedevacantist had genuinely and seriously told me how they personally came to holding the thesis of sedevacantism.
I am sorry if I got any sedevacantist vehemently upset against reason in any way, but sedevacantist ideas and details do not just manifest themselves when I ask questions to sedevacantists. They get manifested in other threads too, where there could be a hint at least that "so and so" does not regard Benedict XVI as Pope. Also, there are other things like the nature of the Church that can come into play.
"Non nobis, Domine, non nobis; sed nomini tuo da gloriam..." (Ps. 113:9)

  • I'm not following you.

In a way you seem to be unhappy that there is too much sedevacantist discourse around here. In another way you seem unhappy that there hasn't been enough.

On the other thread you started out expressing regrets about your own behavior at this forum and that immediately led into an expression of concern about what sedevacantists are up to here. You are concerned that their expressions of their views might mislead Catholics and others. I pointed out that you have started threads in which it was inevitable that sedevacantists elaborate on those supposedly misleading opinions.

There's nothing wrong with that. No one has suggested that you were not serious about wanting to know what makes sedevacantists tick. It just seems unfair to stir the sedevacantist pot by eliciting sedevacantists apologias and then complain that there is too much sedevacantism about at this forum.

It's true that some sedevacantists boldly make posts in which they simply presuppose that there is no Holy Father in Rome, or in which they cite this or that Roman enormity and comment, "And this is what some people consider as coming from the Vicar of Christ."

If you think that some of them are breaking the rules by coming out with such zingers in threads they're not allowed on, you have a valid complaint. But that's a different story from just generally lamenting that the sedevacantists might be misleading folks here.
