“Evil” as in demonic? No!
A low level of greed or perceived need to appear technologically savvy, yes. Maybe someone at Econe is a techy and truly thinks people will find it convenient? That’s entirely possible because the majority of people there will probably be under age 60. They never functioned as a full adult in the pre-digital world.
Now, if you don’t own an iPhone, I wonder if they’ll take cash, check, or credit card?  Can you fly if you don’t own an iPhone? All I have is this decade old tablet that won’t update or load new apps. I own a dumb cell phone, circa 1999.
Need I say I will not be going to the consecrations.
Maybe it is just convenience?  🤷🏻‍♂️

Do you think this event is associated with evil?
That's a difficult question...But a worthwhile question I may add.
re: bacelets: It just doesn't sit right with Trad philosophy,

"...Bishop Richard Williamson (a traditional.. ....Catholic bishop) frequently used his Eleison Comments newsletter to promote end-times and "nєω ωσrℓ∂ σr∂єr" conspiracy theories. He often speculated that a global, cashless society serves as a precursor to the "Mark of the Beast," framing digital finance and government surveillance as mechanisms for an antichrist system designed to control human commerce

"... And Bishop Williamson was not only as simple as a dove, he was also as wise as a serpent and did not restrict himself to doctrinal letters about the Faith, but also explained world events and how the evil one was destroying the social bonds that make peoples and nations. Bishops de Mallerias, de Galarreta, and Fellay did not do these things..."

So, two traitor bishops will be consecrating 4 new bishops: that is a big problem from the getgo. "bishop V. Huonder set the stage, and pure logic points to the recruiting of a couple more N.O. "bishops", so no state of necessity. There is an undercurrent that is bewildering...NeoSSPX needs to return to 2006 General Chapter " 6 Conditions", so I pray that they would fight the enemy, the EVIL one.

Pray.

I was excited when this was announced Feb. 2, but now I even wonder why some "Resistance" priests are so hopeful...  Immediate solution is to wait and see. Perhaps WWIII will delete everything.

What do you mean “traitor bishops?” That’s a bit strong, isn’t it?
And what do you mean by consecrating novus ordo priests?
None of the chosen priests is from the novus ordo.
Huonder has gone to his particular judgment.
Admittedly, none of the priests soon to be bishops is a firebrand like +Bp. Williamson (R.I.P.).
Men like him are rare; the exception, not the rule.
As for getting “excommunicated,” that may be good thing. Some priests, religious, and laity may get knocked off the fence.
We shall see.
