Five new bishops for the SSPX?

Michael Matt says in this article that five new bishops will be consecrated for the SSPX in July.  He seems to base this assertion upon an earlier article by one Gaetano Masciullo:

This is the first I have heard regarding a definite number, and in the absence of further corroboration, I would advise against taking this to the bank.

But it is curious nonetheless.  Anyone know?

There was a part of a conference by Fr. Trejo a while back on YouTube. He used to be the superior of the South American district. He did mention five or six bishops. He even said that they would be between 35 and 50 years of age, if memory does not fail me. The video has been taken down since.

I see a new web site, by the looks of it, for the FSSPX.
One can presume that this will be where announcements will be posted first re: all things Consecrations.

https://fsspx.news/fr/news/les-sacres-dossier-mis-jour-57964

Literal Translation: FSSPX .news/French/ the- consecrations- file- updated
If you choose English tab on that site, it's not up to date, for some inexplicable reason...? Different contents.

Fr. Lorans was interviewed Feb 2, 2026. He states 2017 stats about the number of Faithful worldwide was about 600K.

15 minutes, in French.

The Society has 5 seminaries, if that is any indication. +F and +de Gal are getting older.

So 600K would justify 5 new bishops , no?  1 Bishop per 100,000, approx.

St. Joseph, pray for us.

French is their "official language". They probably write everything in French and then translate it to other languages. You are priviledged, because you can read the statements in the original language.

1 bishop for 100k people? Do we have the data for 1988? I would guess that this rate would be far lower.

Where do their numbers come from anyway? Have they made a census? I would like to see this data.

It's customary for them to count how many attend Mass at each location every Sunday.
