When even Protestants are denouncing him as a heretic for his religious indifferentism, etc. ... you know there's a problem.
You see, that's just it. Even non-Catholics can rightly denounce Francis for saying that the Ten Commandments are not absolutes, for allowing a pagan fertility goddess to be worshiped, and for saying (assuming he did) that it is okay for a pro-choice Catholic President
who actually enables abortion and makes it easier to get, to receive what they would call the "Lord's Supper". Their Bible reads exactly the same as ours does on that latter point.
I would love to see Francis have to sit down in a panel discussion with Protestant leaders in this country --- Franklin Graham, T.D. Jakes, Rick Warren, the folks at Bob Jones University --- and try to explain precisely why he is right and they are wrong. They'd slice him to ribbons.
