  • Does anyone know what the ordination status is for this priest? It appears that he came over from the NO, but I can't seem to find any evidence that he has received conditional ordination.

I was not able to find any information indicating that he was ever conditionally ordained.

I am bumping this in case someone who knows more might see it.

I would be interested in hearing what the truth is.

Maybe the Angelus  will have an article on why Anglican orders are valid since the pope thinks so. What are you worried about.

  • Has anyone ever tried calling the seminary where they live and asked them? His email is probably s.settimo@fsspx.email. It’s just an educated guess but try it and ask him.

  • Yeah, it's very sad that neo-SSPX don't make this information public so that the faithful have to dig around asking about it.  It's done on purpose to basically force their position down everyone's throats.  "We decided they're valid.  You are not to question us.  If we send you a priest, you are to presume validity."  There's a huge amount of hubris there.  Well, guess walk, guys, if it does turn out that these priests are not valid, you will be judged by God for all the Sacraments you've deprived the faithful of.

Yep, I agree. Fr Settimo is not the only priest in Sanford who came from the Novus Ordo and who the faithful don’t know if they were conditionally ordained. Fr. Pieroni, stationed in West Palm Beach and Davie, was also a NO priest.

    I don't think he has.

  • Once a year at my SSPX chapel there is a collection taken for training of priests that come over from the NO. Not sure if this is standard among all SSPX churches.

  • It’s ridiculous that they accept ANY of the NO priest’s “training” as legit.  They should be sent back to year one.  Even Taylor Marshall was complaining about what a joke NO seminaries are, with zero Latin, zero scholastic philosophy, and where many priests had never even heard of St. Thomas Aquinas.

With those criteria, I should have been ordained after one year, since I majored in Greek and Latin, and had as many courses in philosophy and theology, in addition to my own reading, as they have.  I entered STAS with a better background than 99% of NO presiders have.  Also, the NO seminary formation is basically like going to college, going to daily Mass a couple times a week, and a two-day retreat once a year.

This is factually true, including co-ed class rooms in many seminaries. Or worse -- ecuмenical and interreligious classrooms and events.

Right.  I knew several NO seminarians and some priests who told me all about it.  They were also encouraged to date through most of their seminary years.  I could go on for a long time with details, including about an explicit and graphic sex education class given to seminarians by a nun, who said stuff that I can’t even repeat here, and complained the entire time about how she should be ordained a priest because she was just as qualified and had some female analogues to male genitalia (expressed very crudely).  That particular story was told to me by a guy who left STAS after a week on account of Bishop Williamson’s “anti-Semitism”.  He undoubtedly put down “6 million” during that first day of class with +Williamson.

It's the same in the Resistance. I have not heard of any NO priests that associate with the Resistance having to go back to year one.

Are there NO priests coming over directly to the Resistance?  I haven't heard of too many.
