Father Gregorius Hesse, for whom I have much sympathy, unfortunately shows the grave deficits of Novus Ordo theological education. While being myself only meagerly aquianted with Thomistic theology and (Canon) Law, I can only shake my head of so much error in the most basic questions of theology, especially Ecclesiology.
As usual, Fr. Hesse (actually Mgr. Hesse...by the way, he was never reordained after he left Novus Ordo structures) completely disregards the difference between private and public heresy, makes the Magisterium a product of tradition rather than a teaching office and destroys the indefectibility of the Church in the same time - much like the rest of the SSPX.
Then, on the other side, he does not seem to understand the concept of ecclesiastical law and the Pope as highest juridical power in the Catholic Church. He even says that Urban VI.´ changes in the breviary were illegal! I am sorry, but this is completely crazy. Strangely, he never says that St. Pius X.´ changes to breviary and Missal were illegal, too.
Interesting note: He said Mass according to the rubrics of St. Pius X., despite his affiliation with the SSPX.
