In a stunning admission confirming the traditional Catholic position, Archbishop Agostino Marchetto, Secretary of a Pontifical Council, stated on November 12, 2007, that the Church after Vatican II (1962-1965) is a "new Church," not the Catholic Church that preceded it, with a new liturgical service, new sacraments, new doctrine, and a new moral code. Even though I had never formally moved over to the sedevacantist position, and was part of an SSPX chapel, still,
I refused to sing the Sunday Vespers prayer to the pope. (It's on page 210, I believe, in the Society's "Traditional Catholic Missal." I have since changed my mind. I think the Holy Father needs our prayers now more than ever before. He is saying and doing some encouraging things these days. Even the sedevacantists ought to be praying for him. After all, are we not asked to pray for our enemies?

As a matter of habit I pray for all heretics to convert so I have Rome covered with that.

We should. We do. However, I do not pray for him as Pope. He is a man, and, as such, I desire his salvation.
