And no name or picture of this man. And police didn't release info to media.

Many people want the Mass of holy St. Pius V to be the Mass of the Roman Rite once more, as it used to be for thousands of years. 99% of this forum included.
This is not the way to make that desire known -- not at all. He is in my prayers.

Unfortunately, this soul is well intentioned but not playing with a full deck. So of course he's portrayed as a typical traditionalist!

Could be a LARP.... :chef:

That's so later on, they can claim it was anyone they want it to be, for convenience. For example they could say it was poche.
.
And then again, maybe it didn't happen at all that way. If he was incoherent how can they be sure WHAT he was demanding, if anything?

I saw and heard video because someone had copy.
I never thought any thing would happen in Alabama like that. And foul language too. He is not a trad at.
If he has mental problems where are his guardians?
And now where is he? Back on streets?

The following link contains a video clip of the incident:

It appears that some invisible entity jerked the chalice, which the priest seemingly had to grasp back. It certainly wasn't the man as he was not close enough to the chalice.
-
Anyone understand what he was saying?

No, that was just the priest flinching; he was startled, and nearly dropped the chalice.

I've watched that a few times since your explanation, Ladi, but it appeared to me that the priest was unaware of the man at the point in which the chalice jerked in his hands. Perhaps the clip starts a little too close to the incident to judge.

I disagree. Right as recovered control of the chalice he was looking at the guy. He obviously heard the commotion as he was in the motion of the elevation, was startled by the noise, stabilized the chalice, and then looked intently at the commotion. We really don't need to posit some demonic force grabbing a chalice here. Just look at his eyes right as the his arm starts jerking. If it were a motion and no noise, he'd be looking at the chalice and not beyond the chalice to whatever was happening there.

Doesn't bother me all that much. Not tactful. But righteously indignant? Seems like it. Guy just has an anger problem, lots of people do. Sounds like the poor fella had one too many Novus Ordos... video starts immediately after the Pro Multis (who knows how the priest said it?)... then first thing the guy says is "that's it! That's enough!"
.
Amen.

My father told the story of how a lunatic stabbed the priest while he was giving out communion. The priest went to the hospital. When he was better the priest was released from the hospital. My father said how he was very impressed to see the priest back at the altar and giving out communion to the people as before.

No. Fr. Mendez was just startled by the crazy guy who apparently thinks he is Jesus and should be put away instead of just charged with trespassing. Fortunately the chapel has armed guards.

St. Thomas More famously used some pretty nasty cuss words against Luther.
