  • Dear brothers of the one true Holy Roman Catholic faith. What is your opinion on evolution? I'm grown more aware of the topic in recent years, and I now consider evolution to be in the main, bad science. It does no help to understanding our theology either. I've read some material from www.kolbecenter.org & www.faithful answers.com and I've even set up a website www.daylightorigins.com which is a work in progress and needs some modification.

I'd love to hear your views. Pax Christi, Daylight Origins

  • I think the theory of evolution is heretical.

  • I often joke to colleagues that if they were only as evolved as I am, they would understand.

When someone disagrees with me, instead of strengthening my argument, I just tell my opponent that he needs to "evolve".

  • Evolution is a heresy, if it denies that we, as human beings, are descended from two individuals, Adam & Eve.  I have written a blog essay on this topic:

Captn- your witty dry humor really gets under my skin when I disagree with you. But when we're on the same side it sure is fun!

In my opinion, I believe the topic is mis-understood for the most part.  For clarity, discussions of "Evolution" should be understood in terms of 'Microevolution' and 'Macroevolution'.  In this manner there will be much less misunderstanding of the subject matter.

Microevolution and Macroevolution are very different things.  Microevolution, small changes within a group, are easily observable.  Macroevolution, larger changes over long periods of time (objectively the sum of a series of microevolutionary changes), are the more difficult theories of "evolution" to advance within the context of our Faith.
